Best simple upgrade for this gun
The S&W SD9VE is a great "starter gun" for a new shooter like me, and a great value. Some people don't like the trigger, but the only thing that's bugged me about the pistol is the takedown lever, which is nearly flush with the frame and hard to get a grip on with one hand while moving the slide with the other. Made it a real chore to clean it after a range trip. The Deltac replacement is just ENOUGH bigger than the original to make it easy to work. Fantastic item, does exactly what it needs to. Best and cheapest functional upgrade you can do on this gun. Insane!!!
The difference between this and the stock OEM part is insane. It's all in the angle of the grip of the bar. It almost took 2 people to take down my Sigma. I purchased this piece and literally less than 2 minutes to install and I can take or down in seconds and with the two hands I was intended to have. No need for the third hand or the second person. The difference is unbelievable. If you have ever had to fight to take down your weapon you seriously need to try one of these. There is nothing to installing it, just push down on the spring and use the new bar to push the old one through and it's done. Clean and put your slide back on. Extremely well made quality looking part. Drop in fit. Works perfectly and it makes the function of field stripping MUCH easier. Just that little extra bit of material angled so you can reach it better makes a BIG difference. Is the a Nobel prize for gun part functionality? If there is the guy who thought of it deserves one and these people deserve a prize for making a quality, well fitting and REASONABLY priced one. I paid double for another brand is this one is much better. Try it, guaranteed you will not regret it. Extremely well made quality looking part. Drop in fit. Slide lock fit perfect from deltac. Installed 2. One on a g30 gen4 slipped out and new one in. G26 gen 5 was a little pain due coil type spring.
Makes a world of difference in removing slide assembly. Very easy to install just press down on the leaf spring remove slide lock replace with this one. Didn’t have to remove any parts other than the slide itself. Installs in less than 10 minutes on the gen 4.

Subtle differences
The subtle differences in this and the original are what makes it stand out the most to me. I didnt want my pistol to be something drastically different than everyone else's but I did want to make it my own. The original part was very difficult to maneuver whereas the new one operates with great ease. It doesn't however stand out drastically or draw attention to itself. It has a slight angle to the texture which I feel is why it functions with such ease. I'm sure there are other color options out there but the black that I purchased matched up with the pistol perfectly.The subtle differences in this and the original are what makes it stand out the most to me.
