Before purchasing the Quantum I was using the Windows 6.5 OS phone to get both work related and personnal stuff done. However, while I was almost limitless with the windows 6.5 OS in terms of personalization, you had to live with the eventual and unavoidable crash from time to time. No such problem with the Windows Phone 7. It does'nt slow down or crash, ever. It delivers as promised in reguards to speed and the phone is not bad looking either. I don't like the fact there is no "flash play" to highten the browsing experience. But I saw some news that the adobe flash player will be coming to Windows Phone 7 may it be in an upgrate or future versions. All on all the quantum is a solid device and knowing what I know now from using it, I would buy it again.
This is a slick package and nice piece of machinery that is completely handicapped by the Windows Mobile 7 system. If you have not yet heard, Window Mobile 7 will not synch with your desktop or any contact databases. The phone will set up with a single email address and it's content list. As a result this phone has no utility for anyone in business who previously used a smartphone as a single device to store messages, contacts, and other data. On the other hand, my 12 year-old loved the notion of being able to access Xbox applications so he got the phone. Microsoft should be ashamed of itself. The OS is a marketing tool and has no utility for serious adults.
I love the LG quantum's great speaker quality for calls and music. The texting with the qwerty keyboard is perfect. The apps are okay and the touch screen kind of sucks. You don't really have the ability to customize the phone. Also, everything media wise that has been sent to my phone will not open. I do love the phone itself and hope there will be updates to fix some of these issues.
I'm a programmer and i've been working on some apps for the windows device along with android. and i have to say, microsoft makes it pretty easy to make apps for thier phone. as far as the phone itself, it's great hardware, and a super sleak and intuitive os. i've ran into a few bugs, but am not worried since it's still in the early stages. I like the interface much better then the android or ios, because there is no confusion of having to sift through apps. all my friends have been able to pick it up and understand how to use it with little or no instruction. i don't think i have any real complaints, there are a few things i might have done diffrently, but i can't say that they would end up being better. it's fast, fun, smart, cool, and all around sexy, I like it alot!
This phone makes it so easy to stay organized. I have access to all my microsoft documents. I can stay connected to facebook, dont have to log in and with the great camera, it is easy to upload photos. All the menus are easy to access and straightforward. The touchscreen is very responsive. I have been able to stream netflix on it with no problems. a word of caution about the internet usage. I have a wireless router at my home and am able to connect this phone to it (very simply), if you dont have that, then make sure you get the $25 internet package from AT&T, i blew through the 200MB (the smallest $15 plan)in just 3 days. I am very happy with my purchase so far
