Another side of Elvis that needed to be told.
I purchased this DVD for the same reason as most inquiring Elvis fans. I wanted to learn more about the man, rather the myth. Since I’m familiar with all the other accounts; I yearned for a different perspective. This films centers on David Stanley’s personal and working relationship with Elvis during his final years. At 4yrs old, Stanley became Elvis’ step-brother, after his mom Dee married Vernon Presley. The opening depicts a teenage Stanley at 16 and he’s leaving his mom to go on tour with Elvis. What an awesome opportunity for any young man. Can you imagine?!! Anyway, like all teenagers, Stanley thinks he knows it all and attempts to handle the rollercoaster lifestyle of being on the road with Elvis and the Memphis Mafia. I think Elvis fans will love the movie, because it shows the side of Elvis that was uncommon during his final years. Yes the sex, drugs and rock and roll was portrayed, but the film also showed a concerned and caring Elvis, who supported David, and treated him like a father, rather than a half-brother. What I didn’t like about the movie was that none of Elvis’ songs were sung by the actor portraying Elvis. Nor, were the real names of the Memphis Mafia (Red, Sonny & Joe) used, which included Dr. Nick's, who the film portrayed as the evil villain. Finally, I’m not sure if the final scene was factual or dramatized. Either way, the ending was a sad reality. Other than that, it was a decent movie and I recommend it.

Great film.
This is a must have for any die-hard Elvis fan. This story is told by David Stanley (Elvis’ stepbrother) and his experience touring with Elvis in the 1970’s until the very end. The acting is decent, and Tom Sizemore is one of the most well known actors in the cast. I highly recommend it!

After watching this DVD, with all the facts not disclosed in the past, we feel the accuracy of this documentary is really pretty close to the actual events that took place. We know several facts that had occured and were happy to be able to learn more on the events that lead up to Elvis's death. Even though this is a movie, and it was directed by one of his actual Bodyguards-step-brother, we sort of wonder about why Stanley's family (other 2 brothers) were never mentioned in the movie and also, why Graceland has actually banned him from stepping foot on the property. We are concluding that perhaps there is a hush hush promise from most of the onterage members...and those who did not keep that hush-hush aspect have been banned. So freedom of speach is a legal action in the USA. We highly ... Entertaining movie.
Surprising well done movie about David Stanley's experiences on tour with the King. Though one must realize this is David Stanley's version of events.
