Excellent product. Excellent movie.
I really enjoyed the product. It has a lot of bonus features, and the director's cut, I strongly recommend to anyone interested in this film.

If you like extra features, you'll love this one!
So I bought this because I remembered not really liking it when it first came out. And thanks to Ebay, I could pay almost the same amount to just buy the super special edition as I would to rent it. The case and extra stuff in it are great! This is definitely an "ultimate edition" DVD. The extras on the discs are a mile long. I'm not sure I'll have the energy to watch all of them after watching the 3+ hour movie. Great sound options (DTS and Dolby Digital) and the picture looks to have been remastered expertly. I'm not thrilled that the actual movie is split into 2 discs. I'm sure this was done to enhance an intermission effect, but I found it annoying. DVD technology can easily fit this movie onto 1 disc. All in all, it's a great special edition that's worth the few extra bucks ... So I bought this because I remembered not really liking it when it first came out. War movie that’s better than it is given credit for.
While I do agree that some of the love story leading up to the Pearl Harbor bombing could have been trimmed, it is still a sweet love story, and the Pearl Harbor battle sequences are nothing short of incredible, as is the bombing of Tokyo. A lot of people hate on Michael Bay and Ben Affleck, and sometimes rightfully so, but I believe some of Michael Bay’s movies are hated on for no good reason. Pearl Harbor is a better movie than people give it credit for. Good story and outstanding SFX
Pearl Harbor: Using real events as references, this fantasy story is spread out over the opening days of WWII. It was excellent for the subject matter but seemed a bit disjointed at times because too many events seemed to be packed into this one film. Outstanding photography - especially the special effects (!!!!) and music but the actors were limited by the script. Enjoyable to watch but don't get the idea that this is a historically accurate movie. This film (2002 issue) seems to have been cleaned up a bit before formatting to DVD standards so it's probably cleaner than the movie version. Not recommended for children. Review for Pearl Harbor Directors Cut
I am a big Michael Bay fan and could not find the Pearl Harbor Directors Cut DVD in stores so I turn to eBay. The Directors Cut of Pearl Harbor I have to say is better the theater release, in the fact that the Pearl Harbor battle is a lot longer and yes after seeing the new footage, the Directors Cut is defiantly rated R. There are a lot of graphic images and extra scenes, even worst then "Saving Private Ryan". I like the DVD, I did not think it was that bad of a movie to begin with, but the Directors Cut is a lot better.
