This high-action flight movie centers on a team of three sexy stealth bomber pilots who are forced to fly with EDI (Extreme Deep Invader), a computer-manned prototype plane that specializes in extra-precision bombing. The brainchild of a Bill Gates-esque wunderkind (Richard Roxburgh), EDI has the ability to learn at a fantastic rate, talks like HAL from 2001 A SPACE ODYSSEY, and likes to listen to hard rock before going into combat. Before long, a freak accident causes it to question authority and launch an attack on Russia. W.D. Richter's script probes big issues involving man, machine, and the nuclear fate of the free world (Read: DR. STRANGELOVE meets THE TERMINATOR). But this is also an action thrill ride from Rob Cohen--the man responsible for THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS and XXX--replete with some truly tremendous explosions and speeds that outdo any mph records set in Cohen's past ouevre. Jessica Biel (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) is tough and surprisingly believable as the token female fighter pilot, while Jamie Foxx (RAY) makes a fine wingman to the daredevil squadron leader played by Josh Lucas. Sam Shephard (THE RIGHT STUFF) is their commanding officer, with Joe Morton playing a shady politician.

A movie like this with an aircraft carrier, tailhooks, fighter planes, etc. will always lead to "Top Gun" memories. The jet planes are Stealth (duhhhh) and not F-16s. But there are many similarities to the original with a gang of three, starting off with a training exercise, and then the combat situations adopted for our present age. Then mix in some Sci-Fi with A.I., etc. There's not much to show differently with planes in the air, over the water, through mountainous regions, taking off and landing on the carrier, and of course North Korea has to be in play as one of the last rogue nations. The problem is that the movie starts off a little slow, and the script is nothing short of terrible -- the best thing would have been to have not one person say anything at all -- just show the action, ... Not a word shall be said about acting, ... and green apples can be found everywhere, literally. Well, why 4 stars? Because as this flick moves onward it does have some great photography and action scenes and it gets a little better, and everything looks very realistic. It's more like 3 1/2 stars, but my wife liked it a lot more than I did and it wasn't a complete waste of my time or money either. I doubt it that this film will make it into my DVD collection. I hope Hollywood gets at least a few good scripts in the future, because the current material is just not cutting it.

This movie is one part Top Gun, one part Knight Rider, and one part Wargames. It's not an epic movie with a message, it's a "smart vehicle goes bananas" movie with great CGI and a good-looking cast. It's not terribly believable, but if you can suspend disbelief and enjoy things like Knight Rider, this should be a fun movie for you. The Blu-Ray transfer is one of the best I've seen, and I'm pleased with my purchase.This movie is one part Top Gun, one part Knight Rider, and one part Wargames. Very well done.. Made me miss being out on the USS Enterprise CVN-65 in the late 70's...engaging movie..

STEALTH IN BLUE RAY
I WILL POINT OUT THE GRAPHICS ARE EXCELLENT. The story could have been better but that does not take away the great graphics and sound editing and producing of this movie. If you like leading edge technology of aircrafts and computers, you'll love this movie. Sincerely: Daryl
