The Urban Gore was realistic, unlike other movies where a cast member may obtain a head wound and then the next scene shows the person wearing the wound on the opposite side of the actual event. For all my observations, this movie is consistent with its events. Note: when Danny comes homes munching on the travel agents arm & throws it on the bed, you find it later in the movie when Denise is sitting in front of the t.v. next to where he threw the arm... The blood & props and events correspond - the director took the time to make it realistic. The storyline was very good but it is predictable. Of course with most movies everyone will have their opinion as to what would have made it better. The acting between Danny & Denise was very believable too, so this kept the interest to further the film since the audience was to feel sympathetic for the young couple. What would you have done different if your newly wedded spouse was a flesh-eating zombie? The last scene left the movie open for a sequel but I feel it would be inappropriate. Film was well structured, scenery was everday normal environment, acting was great and the make-up gore was fantastic. I do not watch zombie movies myself, it is rare that I do. But I took it upon myself to rent this one because of the different storyline it had to offer compared to all the other "zombie" films. I bought it for a friend who is an enthusiast of zombie films, and compared to the ones she liked, I personally felt this Zombie Honeymoon should belong in her collection.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I wanted to like this movie. As a zombie fan I can (pretty much) always find something good about even the worst zombie movie. Not so in this case, I was just bored. Young punk/surfer couple on their honeymoon on the Jersey shore. There the husband surfs while the wife sketches. Then a man walk out from the ocean and throws up on the husband. He is taken to a hospital where the worst medical acting takes place. Instead of CPR they were giving the guy a massage. So the husband dies but comes back a few minutes later like nothing happened. Thing is he is not hungry for people. Funny, he used to be vegetarian - I guess they MEANT that to be funny. So the girl takes her vows seriously and covers for her zombie hubby - even after she finds him in the tub eating a neighbor. He eats a few more people blah, blah, blah. Then he goes to throw up one the wife but he turns away - I guess he still loved her - and then he dies. So she throws him in the pool and moves to Portugal where she will pop out a little zombie baby. The title was so promising! I thought for sure this would be a funny zombie movie or a so-bad-it-is-good movie. Alas, it is just a plain bad movie. Get Fulci's Zombie, any of Romero's zombie movies or for funny zombies Shaun of the Dead.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Why not? Zombies have been scary and comedic, it's an interesting question. In esssence, we see a couple on their honeymoon and the man gets infected by a zombie. No masses of a town full of zombies, just this one man and his bride as he slowly makes the change and she wavers between keeping her vows to the man she loves or fleeing for her life. Like in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles the movie shows the metamorphosis to be slow, as your body changes and rejects ordinary food, etc. Even better was watching the extras to show how the story came from a real-life couple, friends of the filmmakers, only her husband actually died on their honeymoon. :( This bride gets to slowly lose her husband. Great actors, and a great job for a 'B' budget film. See it with your honey, a chick-flick zombie movie!Vollständige Rezension lesen
Zombie Honeymoon starts off kinda slow and annoyingly predictable, going through hip stuff hollywood newlyweds do, until mr. newlywed goes ahead and dies but comes back to life as a gradually-rotting member of the living dead. I will say that the movie gets better in the fact that the gore gets real and the sounds!! The sounds of flesh being eaten in this movie is almost like none other. From the opening sounds in the beginning and those near the end are absoltely revolting!! Flesh and bone being ripped apart and disgustingly eaten was really something else. Again, the movie kinda sucked, but it eventually got better as the husband became more and more like a member of the undead. Enjoy!
For the period the movie is expected to have been created in it is of good value and well designed and fun - "Flower Power" period seems a period it was of, but good movie.
