It follows the adventures of a Carrington Institute agent. The agent is Joanna Dark, code-named "Perfect Dark." It is her job to uncover and end to the conspiracies set in motion by the defense corporation dataDyne. The games have an intricate backstory. Thousands of years before, two extra extraterrestrial life forms discovered life on earth, and a war ensued. As they battle for world domination, so too do corporations on earth. Gameplay follows the former bounty hunter on behalf of Carrington, Joanna Dark. She aims to stop the truly dark side, dataDyn and the Skedar, from winning. The game's campaign mode follows her through this mission.In this original first-person shooter game, the player crouches, ducks, leans, and drops from ledges as Dark. The character uses a wide range of weapons to take on her enemies. To make it more realistic, the damage taken during combat is location based. One of the prominent features of Perfect Dark is the advanced weaponry and a range of gadgets available. With over 40 weapons to choose from and customize, building your artillery collection in Perfect Dark is an adventure. Special cheats make this an even more exciting challenge.For a player more interested in social gaming, Perfect Dark also features three multiplayer systems. The multiple systems include co-operative, counter operative, and the combat simulator mode. The screen splits both horizontally and vertically when there is more than one player. Computer controlled players and simulators can also be used with each pre-programmed and assigned preset behaviors. An Expansion Pak accessory is required for the full multiplayer options.This classic game was developed by Rare, and the game was released by Nintendo in 2000. This original version is compatible with the PAL/EU/Scandinavian Nintendo 64 consoles. As a complete set, the games come with a game manual, cartridge and manual bags, a box protector, and cartridge pins. All you need to play it is an N64, a memory card, and Gamepad or Joystick. Just plug it in and play.

    Different!!!

    Requires an expansion pak!!! Be warned!!! Perfect Dark has been a key franchise component to Rare Games. Joanna Dark was the Lara Croft of the 1st person shooter until Samus stole the show in Metroid Prime. Perfect Dark was her game. The game starts out slow with training and things I could easily find out on my own but suffered through anyway. After that the game picks up rather well. Graphics are as slightly better than Goldeneye and the controls are pretty solid too. A small amount of stealth is involved but not a whole lot and all the levels are usually dark and dreary. Multiplayer is a big part of the game as well. This is not Goldeneye but it is close and tries to be unique enough to put it in a separate class. But I was never really a great fan.     Best First-Person-Shooter on the N64

    I could say that the condition of the cartridge was good, but that would be too boring. Instead, let’s talk about the game itself. And oh boy, what a game! After spending a lot of time playing Goldeneye, the production quality of Perfect Dark went way up! It was made on the same engine as Goldeneye, but this time there’s full cutscenes, voice acting, and an original story! They even added some new features such as holding the A button bring up a menu that shows all of your weapons, and holding the B button to activate the secondary firing mode! However, there are some things I should mention that gamers should consider when purchasing Perfect Dark. Unless you’re buying it on Xbox 360 or Xbox One, the frame rate sometimes has the tendency to drop below 12 frames per second, ...

    Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64)

    Perfect Dark is easily one of the best and most memerable Nintendo 64 games. In the shooter category, many would consider it second only to 007: Goldeneye. The gameplay is smooth and fluid, with excellent graphics. The single player experience is fun and involving, innovative and just plain cool weapons steal the show here. Althought that is not to say the missions and objectives aren't great, but the game does lose a little bit of pace due to slight repetition. The environments also significantly add to the experience, especially since the expansion pak is required. The expansion pak, which increases the 64's maximum RAM, allows higher resolution graphics and creates great environments. Some early on scenery is plain, but overall this game certainly pushes the Nintendo 64 to its limits. ...

    PERFECT Dark

    Do I even need to review this game? The game pretty much reviewed itself. The title of the game says it all. Perfect Dark. I have nothing bad to say. First off, the single player campaign is awesome. The cut scenes are great, the story is great, the action is great, sometimes you sneak around and other times you blast your way through. The combat simulator is awesome too. You get to make a profile and customize what your character looks like. You also get to choose from many maps, game types and what weapons are on the map. There are tons of weapons to choose from. I guess my only problem with the game is the remote mines. Even when the CPU simulants are on the hardest difficulty, they won't blow up the remote mines they throw. Oh well. The simulator also keeps track of a lot ...

    A great game, considering it's nearly 10 years old

    I bought this game, because I just recently repurchased a Nintendo 64, and this is a game I used to own. It is a sequel, of sorts, to Goldeneye 007... the classic Nintendo 64 first-person shooter. While the sci-fi story has nothing to do with James Bond, the gameplay is the same. If you liked that one, you should like Perfect Dark. One warning, though -- make sure you own the Memory Expansion Pak before buying this game. While it's possible to play this game without it, the single-player game is inaccessible, and the multi-player is extremely limited (you can only use two "bots," if memory serves).
