The main unit of the Yamaha YSP-2200 is big and bulky by usual soundbar standards, and isn’t really designed to be mounted on the wall. But because the unit itself measures just 50mm high, with removable feet that can be adjusted to a height of between 29mm and 39mm, it won’t get in the way of the TV when placed on the same surface. It’s an attractive unit, clad in Yamaha’s customary black finish. The aluminium top panel sports a brushed texture and glossy trim, while curved edges soften the look. Black mesh runs the entire length of the front panel and bends round the sides, through which you can just about make out the 16 beam drivers that project sound into the room. Far right is a tidy LED display panel, which can be used to set up the system, while on top are standby, input and volume buttons. Build quality is absolutely superb. It’s the first YSP to uses a rigid aluminum enclosure, which has been carefully designed to damp vibrations and rules out the need for internal shielding. This high-quality approach is evident fresh out the box – its heft is hugely satisfying. It comes with a passive subwoofer that can be installed vertically or horizontally, the latter allowing you to place it on an AV rack shelf. Its compact dimensions (435 x 137 x 350 mm) will be very welcome if space is tight. This is the first YSP to feature a separate subwoofer enclosure, a move brought about by Yamaha’s realization that most people pair their sound bars with a separate sub anyway.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I have tried a number of "sound bars" and for the money. This is the best I have heard. Especially for tv/movies. Music, it is only OK. Setup was super easy. The sound quality is quite good for it's size. I own an older passive Polk sound bar that actually cost more than this one and did not have a sub. This one blows it away. You do have to make sure you have the sub pretty near the main speaker. A lot of the low mids get sent to the sub and you will miss them if the sub is far away. Don't expect to be totally blown away by the best sound you have ever heard. All sound bars are a compromise between size/easy of use and sound. None of them sound great by any means. But, they do serve a purpose if you have limited space. I would definitely rather have a full blown AV receiver, my floor standing speakers, center, dipole surrounds and sub. But, that is not always practical.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Best soundbar with computer driven controls for the money and you can adjust the sound to your taste. Only my Yamaha YSP-1100 sounds better (it has twice as many speakers and cost twice as much). Most soundbars do not let you adjust the base and treble. The YSP-2200 gives you full adjustment of every aspect to the sound. The built in computer does a good job but you may wish to make fine adjustments. The HDMI ARC hookup is the only way to go, TV to soundbar. I have Directv and Sony 55in 3D TV. Directv remote controls everything. Only concern is subwoofer should have been wireless but wired hookup is not a problem. Only regret is I should have bought this soundbar sooner.
I bought this to replace a 2.1 audio system with receiver in my living room to reduce the amount of stuff in my living room and to get a surround sound experience. I am very pleased with the performance of this system in all respects. It is my first soundbar and obviously can't replace a true 5.1 system, but it fulfills my desires for my living room perfectly and I can't recommend it highly enough. It provides a very rich sound field and surround sound experience for watching movies and also provides a solid sound source for regular TV, etc.
We wanted a surround experience without the cords. This is for a tv mounted above a fireplace. Projection speakers are sitting on the fireplace mantel. Set-up was easy and sound much better than the TV. Maybe not the same experience a a true surround system but this is likely due to the room also not being a box shape, the living is an open design to kitchen /dining room etc..
