This is the best WiFi dimmer switch for several reasons. The biggest is that it does not require a neutral wire. The next best reason is that it does not use your WiFi but rather a separate hub. This is very important if you have a lot of switches that you intend to replace because this system requires only ONE IP address - the one for the hub. This means that you won't overload a typical home WiFi router with too many WiFi devices all seeking an IP address. The router may have a theoretical limit of 255 address, but it can't actually handle more than about 50 simultaneous connections regardless of how little bandwidth is used. These switches completely side-step that whole issue. The third great thing about these switches is if you have a light controlled by switches in more than one location. For these situations, only ONE of these switches is actually needed and wired. For all of the other switch locations you are able to use a much cheaper "Pico" remote switch that looks the same and mounts the same and simply pairs wirelessly to the wired switch. You do NOT have to figure out how the switches were wired! The ONLY possible downside I can come up with is that when you turn these switches on or off, they do so gradually. It's plenty fast enough for life, but it is not instant like a normal switch. I think it's a nice touch to have the lights ramp up and fade out when turned on and off, but some may not like it - and it's not adjustable. I started with using standard WiFi switches when I wanted to make my house smart, but quickly ran into troubles caused by odd wiring, no neutral wire, and too many WiFi connections. So I researched and found these Lutron Caseta switches and I've been off to the races ever since. VERY happy with them.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I just installed two of the switches this morning in my shed. They installed easily and are working wonderfully. The shed is outdoors and the switches connect wirelessly to my Lutron bridge in the house about 75 feet away. Since each switch operates only one LED bulb I made sure to use a bulb tested by Lutron to be compatible. I have had issues before with this type of switch when I didn't use an approved bulb. I can now automate my shed exterior lights much better than the smart bulbs I used before. Another key feature of this product is that they can work in homes that do NOT have a third, neutral wire. Most smart switches require a neutral wire to be present. My home does not have that (25 year old home). I have used several of these inside my home with great success. The only possible downside is that they are fairly large inside the switch box. If you have a lot of wire inside these might be a tight fit. Even with that, I am a huge fan of these switches. I was glad to find these two on Ebay at a great price.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Lutron Caseta smart switches plugs and dimmers are not the least expensive. I’ve used a number of others but as I am building a new home, I am going exclusively with Caseta for fans, window treatments and light switches. They are reliable, easy to install and most importantly, they have connectivity to almost every platform for smart home control. I had 27 of them in my previous home and never had any issues. Caseta was the third solution I installed there. They were totally reliable and way more intuitive for my family to use with or without smart home integration. The others were neither.

In my line of work, I like to know how the product works before I sell it to my customers. I purchased several of these for my home for various functions. Easy to install and setup, and a multitude of options can be achieved with the wireless hub. Need a switch in a weird spot that running wires and mounting boxes will be more difficult than it needs to be for the intended purpose? Use a pico remote. So much time saved, and easy money to be made. These are above and beyond.

I decided to automate the high traffic areas in my home and I wanted to keep all the devices within one smart ecosystem, Apple HomeKit for security and privacy reasons. The Caseta switches are really easy to set up on your network but unlike smart bulbs, they’re still responsive to the network even when you press the off button to turn off the lights. This lets you control the lights from the switch and from your smart device whereas with a smart bulb, once you turn off a dumb switch, the smart bulb doesn’t have any power going to it and you can’t control it remotely. My only gripe with the Caseta switches is that there is 6” of wiring coming from the switch itself instead of having push-in or screw terminals for using the solid copper wiring from the walls. It can be a tight fit in the gang box with the additional wiring.Vollständige Rezension lesen
