Wouldn't buy this phone again, not as good as predecessor, disappointing.
I've previously had a Motorola bright pink phone for several years, (I only changed it due to the battery life being greatly reduced & the phone was rather battered), it was a super phone & I'd hoped the Gleam would be as good with enhancements. Not to be. The Gleam is a big disappointment. It is slightly larger & opening the flip with one hand not that easy, sometimes resetting the volume control on the side by mistake. If you want to know the time you have to push the side button to display. The background display when texting, phone book etc is black with large white text, the "OK" & delete buttons are in a different place, & SO many menus to go through to do the simplest tasks is exasperating. The previous pink phone was much more ergonomic with minimal keystrokes. Two soft keys ... Not able to see who's calling unless flip is open & you hit any key to answer the call, even then it just displays a number not the person calling even though they are in the phonebook. If you have the phone set to answer a call by flipping open you can't even see the number calling you, a real pain if you don't want to speak to a particular caller. Deleting a text takes several more keystrokes than on previous phone going through loads of menus, & texting takes longer for lots of reasons, eg: capitols not automatic at start of new sentence, can't find £ & other symbols. Too much emphasis on music functionality for me; limited ring tones available with the phone, the ones I used before are not available. Phone does not alert me to missed calls or texts, a huge disadvantage. A really good point is programmable Alarm function, brilliant, the only thing that is. I could go on, it is a very big disappointment, I'm considering going back to my old pink phone & buying a new battery.

Good product, good value for money. (I hope!)
I bought this phone because I used to have a purple Ericcson Z750i and loved it so much that I tried to get another one (but the only ones available online are old/second hand ones and I'm reticent about buying used electrical type items online in case they don't work and I can't be bothered with the hassle of returning and trying to get refunds etc.). So anyway this looked like a good substitute to the Z750i (ironically a Z750 is the motorbike I ride!!!) and it was a reasonable price so I ordered it. It duly arrived in less than a week but I was absolutely gutted to discover that my sim card doesn't work in it!!!!!! NOT the supplier's fault I hasten to add, but my provider's fault - H3G. I didn't know that their sim cards are only usable in H3G phones!!! So, with egg on my face, I decided ... I prefer flip phones because the screen is better protected, as are the buttons, and generally you can see who is calling you without opening it. The only problem is that the instructions (that aren't very comprehensive) don't tell you how to change the text on the outer skin of the phone - when you close it, it says 'HELLO' - which is wrong and annoying!.

An ideal basic phone for those who dont want to sing and dance.
Aa attractive basic phone. Ideal for a new user or older person not able to cope with the all singing and dancing models. Good size keys and larger than normal screen. All in all a pleasure to use. Recommended. Only weakness is the very basic user guide.More detail of options of key usage etc would have really helped.

Love it, wouldn't be without it.
Loved my old motorola razor. So wanted to stick with motorola, this model has many more features than the old V3. I really like it, it's easy to use and has the features that I want. The only negative is the camera on the phone isn't very good quality, but if you want to take photos buy a camera.

Would recommend
This is my third Gleam as I find them easy to use. Not easy to work out how assign personal ringtones. Have had the same problem with each of these phones in that after a couple of years the charging connection, within, the phone becomes faulty. However it suits my needs.
