Gold Monster 1000
I purchased the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 very recently and tried it out. The first thing I noticed was no owners manual,just a couple of pamphlets in a multitude of languages and not real easy to follow as the English version is mixed with Arabic. I assembled the unit and noticed right away the rod or shaft for the unit is a three piece non adjustable rod so once assembled I had about a foot hanging out the end from where the arm rest ended. The rods are all the same length so no way of putting a shorter one in to accommodate the proper placement of the arm rest and screen. The unit itself performed very good in the highly mineralized soil I was searching in but was cumbersome due to the foot of rod hanging out the back. The unit is good for finding small gold pieces but again trying to ... I purchased the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 very recently and tried it out. Very easy to use, perfect for beginners and a choice of experts for finding small gold. But don’t take my word for it, check online resources from the experts. Search for titles like “detectorprospector gold monster”, “nuggetshooters gold monster”, “Jeff Williams gold monster”, “Arizonaoutback gold monster”, “Robsdetectors gold monster”, and “ Nuggetshootersjournal gold monster” and see for yourself how well this detector works. As for being plastic mentioned by the other reviewer, yes they are all plastic, but are very light and strong. Also, you can buy new coil And covers on the bottom, And a piece of blue tape on top helps prevent scratches on top of the coil. A GREAT SIMPLIFIED DETECTOR.
For a few years I have used a Garrett Pro which I liked for treasure hunting the beaches of Florida. Had to spend time balancing and adjusting for the mineral content in the salt water sand, but once dialed in it did a good job. However when I go to gold country it falls a bit short. I received the Gold Monster 1000 for Christmas, tested it in the yard (burying nuggets, coins, shot shell, aluminum etc) and it worked flawlessly. I like the self balancing, the eliminating system items I do not want to dig and the ability to move the detector off an item I did not want eliminated (coin or nugget) and it will immediately pick them up again. I haven't even test it yet, so I can not give a full review, but from what I hear from other people, I hope it works is a bit expensive more than other units out there, when I find something than and only then I will give full review. thanks Anthony J.

Sensitive, light, weather proof & simple to use.
Simple to operate and light to use detector who's high speed processor allows for faster and accurate searching. It has hit some little lead pieces of bullets at good depths and has good discrimination. The simplicity and practicality of design allow for field improvisation of shafts with the provided coil mount kit. My only surprise was seeing how fast the AA batteries (in the enclosed adapter)went when I used the deep search mode (I will be buying a 2nd minelab battery). Overall a great detector thus far!Simple to operate and light to use detector who's high speed processor allows for faster and accurate searching.
