I had a 160Gb that was stolen - I had to replace it and the 80Gb is enough. It gets me through a long road trip with questionable radio reception. I will start downloading audio books for this purpose as well. I bring it with me overseas every year and have a dock radio that I can play my whole music collection just like at home. There are some features that make it hard to use while driving. I also had some trouble getting the volume to lock. Since I never use it with earbuds, I want maximum volume and it wouldn't lock. I have to look down to select something or know what's playing since the screen doesn't stay illuminated.

This newest iPod adds Coverflow, doesn't allow 5th gen games, video out through headphones, or some of the previous 3rd party accessories. I do love 80 GB in such a thin iPod. It can lag a little though. When you select an artist's name, it won't let you select an album until all of the album art has loaded. It adds a couple seconds, which is just long enough to be annoying. I've also had a hard time loading / fixing artwork. Itunes doesn't embed the art into the mp3 files, but in a seperate database. It works fine, and saves space, but your art won't be there if you switch to another mp3 player. I also get problems with the same album showing up 5 or more times in Coverflow. Hopefully iTunes will get smarter over time.
One of the best iPod you can use, has many Great features, though the one I ordered had Apple Replaced parts, so the functioning wasn't exactly as 'Brand' new, due to the re-configuring of parts,....but overall, very good mp3 player, the higher storage models great for someone who doesn't worry about expanding memory,...

This is still the reigning champ iPod. For those who think there are compatibility issues with the newer iTunes programs that is not true. The songs still sync just fine. If your having issues with your Classic syncing songs from itunes that means the Hard drive is having issues. This is not a compatibility issue. However being that it's a 2008 model your going to have some bugs. After syncing my songs it started to skip through all the songs until it could find one it could read. Unfortunately this is due to the hard drive starting to go out. So if anyone buys this model and you have the same issues just reset & re-sync the Ipod on Itunes and if that does not fix the problem then you will have to replace the hard drive. In this case i was fortunate enough to recover the hard drive by performing this procedure. However this does not always fix the problem. Eventually i will have to replace the hard drive. Overall the Classic 6 still reigns with it's monster size storage options and it's durability, and low maintenance costs.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I have used 3 ipod videos and considering how much cheaper you can get those and how amazingly cheap their accessories have dropped to I say dont make the same mistake I did, GET A VIDEO! The classic is fine except the fact that it still has some bugs to be worked out by apple, for one thing, whenever the ipod goes to sleep, your backlight timer setting will always go back to 10 seconds which may seem minor, but it is annoying! The cover flow works good with the current update, but it would be nice if you could select whole bands off it so you could play everything from a band rather than just individual albums. The worst thing about the ipod, is not really the unit itself, but the way apple has decided to go about the accessories for the ipod...the video out feature will no longer work on any of your old docks with this thing, apple decided to suck as much money as they can out of their loyal ipod users by making the new ipod require a cord with a chip from apple in it so they could charge you $50 for the video feature...and that is just as a cable! You still can have to buy far more overpriced items to have the feature in a nice speaker dock of some sort. I luckily have bought all my previous accessories for my video ipods at really low deals so I have not sunk more than maybe $100 into accessories, but I feel very sorry for those who have spent money on the very expensive accessories just to have to buy new ones for your modern ipod! I will say that the new ipods have a nice style to them, but still if the new ipods style in design and layout on the ipods firmware was a 10/10 that would still only leave the old video ipods at a 8/10 because it IS NOT A HUGE IMPROVEMENT! not worth having to pay 100's of extra dollars on the ipod, accessories and games (yes the games from video no longer work on the new ipods even though they have the same screen resolution) Get a video, or a zune! That is all!Vollständige Rezension lesen
