Pros: - Super bright screen with sharp text and detailed graphics - Thin bezel makes multimonitor setups an option - Connections for both DVI and VGA - Intuitive controls for picture adjustment - 1600x1200 resolution. Even better than 20-22" widescreens sold today Cons: - Really poor viewing angle. Must be looking directly at it. - If multiple connections are used, it'll automatically flip from DVI to VGA during times the screen is black (i.e. while Windows is booting up) without your ok. Summary: The poor viewing angle is my only real gripe. The 19" 191-T Samsungs these replaced were much better in this area and the Dell 2007FP 20" model seems to rank higher in this area as well. It's still worth the money and I'd take one of these over a lower resolution widescreen 20" any day.
My 17" CRT monitor died. This 20" full screen LCD monitor takes up less deskspace, but allows me to see more rows of data when in spreadsheets. Not as much glare from sunlight streaming in the windows. Online and magazine reviews of this monitor were very positive and I'm reaping the benefit of the experts and user feedback which helped me select this monitor from the thousands out there and available at good prices on E-Bay, Kijiji, Craigslist, etc. My thanks to the expert reviews, but also to the unpaid reviews of earlier consumers and users of these electronic and other products. I have owned 4 Samsung monitors. My experience over a 10+ year period has been well beyond my expectations. During this period I did not experience a single problem with any of the monitors. In fact I did not even have a single burnt out pixel on any of them and I still have the first one I purchased 10 years back. The overall picture quality is slightly above average. Sharp and clear, good contrast and color rendition. Minimal slight leakage. Excellent for the price, definitely a good value. I used these monitors for a number of tasks. They are used heavily for everything from video games, to homework, to watching movies. I have never had a single problem. Every pixel is still functional and the picture is still excellent. It should also be noted that in the time I've owned these I have moved 7 times, which can be hard on electronics equipment. They have started up after each move with no problem. If you were to purchase a used monitor this would be the one. Very hardy, well built, reliable product. I have also owned a few Samsung TV's and other products. The quality on all of them has been outstanding and I would have to highly recommend any of their products. Hope this helps!Vollständige Rezension lesen
This is a great lower-cost / last years' model that is a definite upgrade from the 21" older CRT's I had. If you view it side-by-side with a higher cost LCD you won't see much difference between them. This LCD looks great at 1152 x 864 even tho it's not the native resolution of the panel. I can't detect any blurring or ragged edges on screen at this resolution. Other resolutions don't look as good except the native 1600x1200 which is too small for me to read. The only limitation I have seen is the vertical viewing angle. Like most LCD's you need to be at just the right height to see the entire screen without the colors fading out. This one you need to be right-on or the top / bottom will be darker than the rest of the montior. One nice feature is a button on the front that switches between DVI and VGA input. I use it as a cheap video switch between two computers. I replaced 5 Sony 21" (G500) CRT's with Samsung 204B's and have been very happy with their performance. At $175 (7/07) they are worth every penny IMHO.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The main reason for buying this monitor was to replace a smaller one which came with a newly purchased PC. The PC was bought for use at a church. The problem is that the monitor and keyboard sit on the return section of a desk. For those who don't know - most return sections are stepped down (height-wise) from the main desk. We needed a monitor that was bigger and had an adjustable stand. Most flat panel monitors come with a fixed stand. We have multiple people working at this desk and needed the adjustability. This was made me look at this specific monitor. What also struck me was the price. For the size monitor and the pixel amount the value was excellent. One thing I did not realize when buying the monitor was that the whole monitor can be rotated 90-degrees for viewing. I am not sure what we'll use this for but all-in-all I do believe the monitor was a very good buy.Vollständige Rezension lesen
