"Carol" is one of the Best, Intelligent, Captivating and Superb Acting Love Story seen in this 20th Century! Adding to the story, the photography, details, lighting, movement and color is breathtaking and captivating throughout, and so too is its very moving music; especially when seen on a blu-ray disc. I love that the story is set in the period of the 1940-50's and that the two leading actresses play their roles with so much intense feeling and individuality within and out - in every detail from beginning to end. And even though the two are many years apart in age and both have their own separate and different lives, they still manage to be drawn to one another with so much passion and electricity, yet with a quietness that is so inviting and attractive, The story draws you into their lives - moving swiftly, yet with a slowness that keeps you connected with so much interest and yearnings. The movie shows how this kind of love, though forbidden at the time, could not be prevented nor kept from happening. Love has no age nor gender preference, nor social or economical boundaries when it hits the heart, body and mind. This movie has you spell-bound and captivates your full attention to its end. You can look at this movie a thousand times, and still want to see it again and again. Best to have it in your collection to see it whenever you want.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Carol, is a complex movie about the forbidden love between an older and younger women during the conformist 1950's. It is refreshingly subtly and for once not formulaic. It does a wonderful job of letting the story slowly unfold in a realistic fashion. And doesn't insult it's audiences intelligence by bopping us over the head with it's themes and conclusions. A superb romance.
