Black Magic Woman (1991, VHS)
I purchased this movie because I thought it would be a murder mystery/suspense type of movie dealing with Witchcraft. Its about a young woman named Cassandra who falls in love with a young man who is an art gallery owner named Brad. But Cassandra soon finds that Brad is engaged to another young woman named Diane. Brad has all kinds of bad luck and mysteriously bad things happen to him, until he gets help through his housekeeper, who takes him to a Witch Doctor. The Witch Doctor cures Brad, ending his bad luck, but then Brad and Diane have more problems with Cassandra. The very beginning of the movie starts out with several woman gathering together and conducting some kind of Magic Witchcraft Ritual with lighted candle's and speaking in some strange language, then they share in drinking ... I purchased this movie because I thought it would be a murder mystery/suspense type of movie dealing with Witchcraft. Its about a young woman named Cassandra who falls in love with a young man who is an art gallery owner named Brad. But Cassandra soon finds that Brad is engaged to another young woman named Diane. Brad has all kinds of bad luck and mysteriously bad things happen to him, until he gets help through his housekeeper, who takes him to a Witch Doctor. The Witch Doctor cures Brad, ending his bad luck, but then Brad and Diane have more problems with Cassandra. The very beginning of the movie starts out with several woman gathering together and conducting some kind of Magic Witchcraft Ritual with lighted candle's and speaking in some strange language, then they share in drinking some kind of red wine as if it were like a Holy Communion just before throwing the wine glasses into an open fireplace with a very high flame burning. Then one of the young woman Witches appear to be sacrificed with a knife, and then a large plume of smoke appears to engulf the whole room, and the Witches all just disappear from the room. The next scene takes you to Art Gallery owner Brad and his girlfriend Diane conducting preparations for an art gallery show and hoping to sell off a very special "high end" art collection, where Brad meets Cassandra, and the rest of the story starts. The ending has quite a surprising twist. If you stick with the movie, you will find out at the end of the movie, the reason for showing the women Witches and the Magical Ritual they were doing in the very beginning of the movie!!! You have to ask yourself, did they know Cassandra and were they Expelling her from there coven? Or was Cassandra unknown to them and on her own doing black magic all alone, only to have other outsiders secretly working there black magic against her and Brad? See the movie and find out! I bought this movie because I thought it would be intriguing, but while watching it, I thought that there were a few points in the movie that were silly and below average as far as the storyline goes. I give the movie an below average rating for the storyline in the middle, but the surprise ending, bumped the rating up for me to average. It could have been a better movie had the directing been a little better in my opinion.

Its low budget. Its only ever been released on VHS format, I cannot even see it on Region 2 disc release. Its early in his career, IMDB shows a lot of performances that he has done in his career but try finding them live action as opposed to a voice acting role, also alot of the work he has done that is live action is good but no executive will take the risk of putting it on DVD. It is the worlds loss, this is a creepy psychological thriller with elements of witchcraft and other aspects of the occult that is just so good that I can not say enough about it. The problem is that if I tell you to much it will ruin the surprise. If you want to take the risk keep reading for a full description of what is now a prize part of my VHS collection. The owner of a suburban art gallery searches for someone to perform an exorcism after a witch casts a spell on him. Great Story and Well Acted. The film itself and the acting in the film were very good. The whole story idea behind it was very interesting and intriguing. The problem with the film was that the editing was not very good. By the editing not being good it affected the over all look of the film. The acting, directing, writing, and complete film were good. The editing killed the whole thing for me because it was too choppy and made it difficult to follow because of all the weird splicing everywhere. But besides that I'd give this film an 8, 10 being best. In spite of the splicing, I am never selling this film, and will only lend it out if I can burn a copy to disk, and then only because it is hard to find. I paid 4 dollars for it here on ebay, but in retrospect I would have paid $30. Look all you will, you won't find this at even the most eclectic or artistic independently owned video stores. Believe me I have actually looked.

Hey People! Well, the reason I decided to buy this flick is because I never finished watching it! The movie came out on TV, but i had to go to work and I missed it! It seemed very interesting, and I was upset about not finishing it. So, I looked it up on EBAY, and found it! Talk about super luck!I love the plot, it involves a love triangle between 2 witches, and a guy.(romantic, suspensful movie) The girl with the black hair is so gorgeous! Thats another reason why I love this movie. The guy is going out with the blonde girl, but then meets the black haired girl at his photo gallery, they get it on, and from there, the story unfolds.
