I have a much earlier DMC-TZ3 from years ago. The image sensor has finally gone bad and I cannot find a replacement otherwise I would repair it. This ZS7/TZ10 is replacing the TZ3. I have not explored other cameras, and not for any good reason. I would enjoy doing so when I get some free time. Being familiar with the TZ3 prompted me to purchase the TZ10, being somewhat familiar with the features. The ZS7/TZ10 is much improved over my old model, and I have some new features to learn. I have only used it a little while so far, but I am totally pleased with the results thus far. I would buy another without reservation, though I would thoroughly enjoy exploring other manufacturers cameras.

It's actually a ZS6, the one that hasn't got the gps built in, but the other features are similar to the ZS7. I was looking for this type, since I had read reviews that questioned the usefulness of the gps and outlined it's large needs of power. My overall impression of the device is very good. (Already more than 3000 pics taken.) It has a great bunch of features, many of them very useful. The manual options are also very beneficial, I like to use them very much. I'm satisfied also with the accessibility of the features. The content of the quick menu changes when rotating the mode dial, it usually gives quick access to the most important things. The quality of the pictures is great, taking pictures under low light conditions can be problematic, but as far I know this is quite usual among this category of compact cameras. After some practice, better understanding of the manual modes can have surprisingly good results. As a bad point I'd outline the "ia" intelligent auto mode, which I find useless after having gotten used to the camera. It sets unnecessary high iso values, and uses pre set programs I' didn't want to. The camera has a great video equipped with stereo sound. It doesn't suck the battery. In general the endurance of the battery is very ok. Zoom range is very useful. The camera has a well built metal body. Quickly these were the things came into my mind. In general I would recommend this camera, very good in the category and has a good value for the price.Vollständige Rezension lesen
This camera is extremely easy to use and takes professional grade photos. My friends often ask how I got such great pictures. Actually, the camera does the adjusting. That's great because I am not the best photographer. Zoom shots show clarity and do not lose resolution. Panarama shots are also the best. Suggest you purchase large secure digital card because you will not want to run out of space once you begin taking pictures. I love this camera and would buy again and recommend to others.
Although this camera isn't the smallest in its category, it is small enough to keep in a jacket pocket, plus it takes outstanding photos. It has a great range of features including a built-in GPS that allows you to geo-tag your photos and a zoom that has an optical range extending from true wide-angle to moderate telephoto. In addition, it takes good flash photos, a feature not found on most cameras in its class. Panasonic has replaced this camera with a new model DMC-ZS10 that has no additional features except for a slightly longer zoom. If this camera is available, I would purchase it rather than the new model. I have found this camera to be superior to similar models from Canon and Nikon.
This is THE best point-and-shoot digital camera I have ever owned. The Leica lens makes the difference. The photos are so crisp, even on the macro mode. Many times I don't even need the flash mode for evening shots. I took it on a recent trip to Japan . . . 1500+ photos later. I do recommend that on big trips, you take at least 3 batteries and 2 8gb or 16gb cards so you don't have to wait for a battery to be re-charged, etc. with this camera, you can't stop clicking away . . . scenes, close-ups, action, etc. The cost of this camera is more than worth the price; it's only when you purchase one and use it that you will truly understand!
