What a great concept! It has so many different effects, cab/amp models and the like - and it can handle bass, acoustic and electric guitars? Unfortunately, it falls a bit flat. The effects are pretty poor sounding, which I suppose is to be expected from a lower-price-point multi-effects unit. The bass amplifier feature does not get as loud as one would hope - if you play with a louder drummer, this won't cut it. It seems that the 100w/12" speaker doesn't quite translate from guitar volume/power to bass volume/power. The power sponge knob is pretty gimmicky and I don't find it particularly useful. However, if you're buying this for a practice solution, it's great! Here's an amp that's your one-stop-shop, making it perfect for smaller apartments or bedrooms that can also be used for light practices with bandmates. On top of that, the USB-out feature is wonderful for recording yourself, while the aux-in is a great practice tool. So, with all of that in mind, I would recommend this to someone looking for an all-in-one amplifier IF they also need a USB-out. If you need it for multi-effects on top of any of that, I do not recommend it. If you have the space and the dough, I would recommend getting standalone amps and effects for your instruments.Vollständige Rezension lesen

The warm, rich tones of the Vypyr tube combo are versatile enough to be used in any venue, from bedroom rock star to heavy metal, and it performs equally well onstage and in church, whether at high volume or low. This modeling amp mimics, quite nicely, 12 of the worlds most sought after sounds and with the digital stompbox and effects selections combined with a fully functional Pre and Post Gain mixer it is possible to create whatever sound you are seeking! Once created your sound can be stored and recalled at will using the three banks of 4 each presets (total of 12). Adding the Sanpera II foot pedal vastly increases the number of potential presets while adding a volume pedal, a wah wah pedal, a looper (record what you play and play along with the recording) and total remote control of all the Vypyr's functions! The Vypyr clearly blows my Crate GFX-120 out of the water even when I play my VOX AD15 DT through the Crate ( which sounds great!). I have been playing through the Vypyr for 3 months and have yet to discover anything I dislike. It makes my Greg Bennett AV 6 sound even sweeter--and it was pretty sweet to start with. ( I've found it equal to all but the most expensive Gibsons) Are there better amps than the Peavey Vypyr out there? Undoubtedly! However, if you are looking for a great sounding, versatile amp at an affordable price you won't find better than the Vypyr Tube 60!Vollständige Rezension lesen
With the Sanpera 2 midi pedal board to go along with the amp it is very kool. Many different sound options for tone and amplified sounds at the touch of a foot switch. Because the amplifier is a tube amp the warmth in the tone is much more full than a transistor amplifier.
A joy to play. Sounds incredible! It's the best of both worlds--tubes and ss. The solid state amps don't sound anything like this. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and this amp offers the tone and performance that I've always wanted. I'm not referring to all of the onboard, gimmicky effects, but the tube distortion and clean tones you can access through the different amp models. Hats off to Peavey...
I have not cranked this to see how loud it can be. I am always under 3 on the master dial. I wish they had a 30 watt version as this is overkill for me. However the price was good and the versatility is good too. Its a bit bigger than I wanted but if you need something to gig around with, this will do for most smaller venues (less than 5000 capacity).
