In the United States, these spectacular and intriguing plants are found exclusively in a small area of the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern corner of Arizona. With a landscape marked by sharp, rocky slopes and daytime highs in the summer reaching 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the region is inhospitable for most ordinary life, whether plant or animal. But the organ pipe cactus is far from ordinary. Although it is the most common columnar cactus, it is so unusual in the United States that it is one of only three cacti to have a national preserve established to protect it. In this regard, it joins a select group of plants--"including Joshua trees, redwoods, and sequoias--"upon which that honor has been conferred. In this beautifully illustrated, large-format book, David Yetman provides an in-depth and comprehensive look at these intriguing and picturesque plants that most Americans will never have the opportunity to see. Chapters explore their ethnobotanical uses, their habitat, their distribution, and special conditions required for their germination, establishment, growth, and survival. Accurate item description and pics. Great packing job with great care and emphasis on ensuring the item arrived undamaged using minimum packing materials and with conscientious use of recycled materials. Super-fast shipment at reasonable rate and arriving ahead of schedule. Great communication before and after transaction. Highly recommended A+ / 5 Star seller! Definitely one of my new favorite sellers and will purchase from again. Can't say enough praise for this seller. Highly Recommended!!!!!

This sellers "two day" shipping policy is baloney - it took a over five days and repeated emails before this item shipped. I almost thought I would have to request a refund from eBay. That being said, when it did ship, it was nicely packaged and arrived undamaged. I would not buy from this person again because they don't honor their own policies! I can only leave positive feedback because 1) the item DID arrive, and 2) it was as described. The rest wasn't a great experience.

Great transaction and seller! I ordered a small lot of comic books and they were shipped out right away plus, the seller went above and beyond to pack them up extra well to help ensure they arrive undamaged. I believe the seller's prices are good plus, the ad description and images were true to the actual items. Thank you!!
