You don't have to be a senior or dummy to get the best from this book!
I don't consider myself a Senior even though I'm 64! I wanted to make sure the book would address the basic, most simple aspects of my IPad. I had gotten an IPhone and hated it for the first few weeks and finally mastered it so Dec of 2011 I bought myself an IPad thinking it would be simple since I had the IPhone down pat. NOT! I played with the IPad for a month and became more and more frustrated with it. It sat in my closet from February until December of 2012. Co-workers were extolling the virtues of their precious IPads when I admitted I hadn't even seen mine for 10 months and I should either give it away, sell it or find an IPad for Dummies book. I honestly didn't know they existed! One of the girls said "There is IPad for Dummies out there! Wa-La! I bought the book and found ... I don't consider myself a Senior even though I'm 64! I wanted to make sure the book would address the basic, most simple aspects of my IPad. I had gotten an IPhone and hated it for the first few weeks and finally mastered it so Dec of 2011 I bought myself an IPad thinking it would be simple since I had the IPhone down pat. NOT! I played with the IPad for a month and became more and more frustrated with it. It sat in my closet from February until December of 2012. I honestly didn't know they existed! One of the girls said "There is IPad for Dummies out there! Wa-La! I bought the book and found it to be the most valuable asset to owning an IPad. I actually think that Apple should include an IPad for Dummies book when you purchase the thing! The pictures and tutorials are great. There are tips and tricks I would have never found without this great book. No more frustration. My IPad is now my "go to" toy and I love being able to Facetime with my grandbabies and the pictures are fabulous. I love the fact that I can pull out my IPad instead of a fat wallet full of pics and do a little "Grandma" bragging or just sit and reflect on the pictures that are stored on this marvelous piece of technology. It does everything my laptop does or my IPhone does (with the exception of making and receiving phone calls) and thanks to the IPad for Dummies, all this is at my fingertips! I would give this book a 10 if I could!

Title fits the situation to a tee!
The book seems to be well done, and easy to understand, but after 30 years or so using windows and being 78 years young, I don't think my mind is ready for the change. Don't think it is for me at this point.

I am a Senior and definitely a tech "dummy". I am ok with my laptop, but only with basic functions. Same applies to using my smart phone. I only use my Kindle to read books. I don't understand how to use the other functions.I didn't need an I Pad. I bought it only because I am going away for a week long art workshop in Maine and I want to take pictures to paint. The I Pad, to me, unlike my other digital items, is non intuitive. Even though I was able to figure out the basics on my laptop and smart phone, I was totally lost with the I Pad. Thus thi book, I Pad For Senior Dummies was a perfect solution for me. So far, I've used it twice and it gives me the basics that I need to be able to use the I Pad.
