Synopsis

    Not a particularly exciting read

    Todd McCaffrey seems to be filling in the empty spaces on the time/space map of Pern history. It seems as if several of his books have taken secondary characters, or ones that are mentioned in passing in his mother's books, then fills in their story in a voice that is similar to his mothers, but perhaps because of the constraints placed on him as an author by the major timeline, without much punch. This had way to many "I'm blurry because I must already be in this time" moments to make the faithful series reader consider what they have already read in an earlier volume. Not bad, but not really moving either.

    I have enjoyed many years of reading about the dragonriders of Pern. I've re-read some of them many times. Thank you McCaffreys.

    Dragonheart by Anne McCaffrey, Todd J. McCaffrey

    As a long time Pern Dragon lover, the new books written by Anne and Todd fill in the gaps betwen Dragonsdawn and the Dragonriders of Pern. eBay has allowed me to finally own a complete set of all the Dragons of Pern books. Comparing cost and shipping as well as condition has encourged me to fill in the gaps of my Pern Collection.
