Adam Sandler Gives Us Another Great One
We are beginning to witness the maturing of the funniest comedic actor in a long time. Not to say he is not funny anymore by any means! Sandler is just growing up from his outrageously funny comedy sensations like "Happy Gilmore and "Billy Madison" and is now becoming a more diverse man. Coming off a very serious "Punch Drunk Love", he has grown; as a man and actor. "50 First Dates" has all the fun and laughs of his hilarious films and casts of characters who appear in seemingly all his films in one way or another, but Barrymore brings a love interest and additional hilarious side. This movie has a great combination of laughs and love. A great "date-movie". Sandler is laying the foundations to expand his talent and reveal a softer side and ... Sandler is laying the foundations to expand his talent and reveal a softer side and gentler side than his Clown-Smashing, Golf Club Tossing antics that made me laugh so hard I cried. But now his comedy and sincerity together make me laugh and cry. Nice to see such a talented man entertain so well. Great Film. SEE THIS ONE !!!!

I am pleasantly suprised to say that I really enjoyed this movie- it manages to be light hearted and funny, romantic and has a little depth to it at the same time. Adam Sandler plays a man who shys away from commitment in relationships and has a long history of one night stands with the many different women who are vacationing on the resort island he lives on. Drew Barrymore plays a woman named, Lucy, an island resident, who due to a car accident has no long term memory. Her memory capacity is only about 24 hours. Although this type of memory condition may sound a little far fetched it actually DOES exist and is portrayed quite realisticly in the plot of this movie- which I think makes the plot more interesting- this REALLY COULD AND DOES HAPPEN. When Sandler meets Lucy he doesn't ... This turns into Sandler trying day after day to make Lucy fall in love with him all over again so he can spend time with her, while at the same time trying deal with her very protective family- who do not want to see her hurt by Sandler in any way. Going into this movie I was worried that it might follow the same type of plotline as the movie Groundhog Day- that it would portray the same mundane day over and over and over again-- you know, it was okay to watch for a while, but then gets VERY VERY OLD. Pleasantly that just isn't the case with this movie and the plot manages to progress and move forward.

I don't typically like Adam Sandler. I find that he's just one of the many talentless white men that somehow have a hold on comedy. But I do like Drew Barrymore, even though she just acts like Drew Barrymore in everything she does. This movie was very cute. It had genuine moments of hilarity, and I found myself enjoying the characters presented. Although the premise was original, the plot was somewhat predictable. And also, how would someone afflicted with the condition Drew's character had ever be able to overcome it in a few hours every day, and then go happy-go-lucky into the successive hours and not be absolutely miserable knowing that they won't remember a thing? This requires a bit of suspension of belief on the viewers part. But, after buying into ... I don't typically like Adam Sandler. I find that he's just one of the many talentless white men that somehow have a hold on comedy. But I do like Drew Barrymore, even though she just acts like Drew Barrymore in everything she does. This movie was very cute. It had genuine moments of hilarity, and I found myself enjoying the characters presented. Although the premise was original, the plot was somewhat predictable. And also, how would someone afflicted with the condition Drew's character had ever be able to overcome it in a few hours every day, and then go happy-go-lucky into the successive hours and not be absolutely miserable knowing that they won't remember a thing? But, after buying into the fantasy that the movie created, I was able to sit back and enjoy this sweet movie about, you guessed it, finding love in the most unpredictable of places (imagine that!), and that your true love can make you fall in love with them day after day. Starting Adam Sandler with Drew Barrymore, his co-star from The Wedding Singer, as well as Peter Segal, his director on Anger Management. Fifty First Dates finds the funnyman playing veterinarian Henry Roth. More than content with a life of one-night-stands, Henry decides to give up his noncommittal lifestyle when he meets and falls for Lucy (Barrymore). However, when he discovers that Lucy has no short term memory, Henry finds himself having to win her heart again with every new day.Starting Adam Sandler with Drew Barrymore, his co-star from The Wedding Singer, as well as Peter Segal, his director on Anger Management. Great "Feel Good" movie
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are reunited in this cute "Feel Good" movie set in Hawaii. The chance meeting between Sandler and Barrymore occurs in a quant island restaurant. Barrymore, who lost her memory in a car accident, (not violent), is reliving the last day before the accident over and over in her daily routine much like "groundhogs day." Her father does all he can to keep his daughter's memory of the accident away from her by going out of his way to keep her happy. The entire supporting cast carries the movie with the exception of Rob Schneider who feels that perverted "sophomoric" humor is needed to carry the day. Without his brief appearances I would have rate the movie excellent since it is the kind of harmless classic you can watch over ...
