Adobe Illustrator CS3 Classroom in a book is an excellent resource and, of course it comes from the makers of the Creative Suite Software. The book has 15 chapters starting with getting to know the work area (if you have CS3 software you know how daunting that is!) and from there you begin from the very basics in a step by step approach which works well for me. I like the book because you can go at your own pace and the lessons get progressivly complex. you receive a CD-ROM with lessons and other files and you can also register your book at Adobe Press and download more lessons or resources. Very Helpful
This book is really helpful if you are taking an adobe Illustrator class. It has hands on examples of how to create vector art. The CD is crucial for the success of learning Illustrator, make sure the book has the CD with it. The CD contains all the examples the book uses so without it the book is kind of pointless. Unless you are taking a class and the professor gives you all the examples from the book. Illustrator is a hard tool to master but once you do it is very fun and exciting. My suggestion skip pages 14-31, that example will only confuse the heck out of you if you have never seen or touched illustrator.This book is really helpful if you are taking an adobe Illustrator class. Class Room in a Book Illustrator CS3
I love the Adobe Classroom in a Book series! They contain step by step instructions and are soooo easy to understand. They far exceed any software manual I've ever seen as far as ease of use and instructions. I actually had four of them for various Adobe applications and shipped them home to myself from out of town. Unfortunately, they were lost in the mail, so I was quite excited to find them on eBay. I've been able to buy three of them here and I'm just waiting for the fourth to show up. I paid $50+ for the originals, so it was nice to find the replacements on eBay for less.I love the Adobe Classroom in a Book series! They contain step by step instructions and are soooo easy to understand. They far exceed any software manual I've ever seen as far as ease of use and instructions. Best way to learn Adobe products
If you wa.t to learn any Adobe app get a CIB. It's the industry standard for any of their products - used from high school to college classes. Each lesson /chapter is complete and takes about an hour to finish.

Adobe Classroom in a Book
I just upgraded to a new version of all of my Adobe software. I have always purchased the Classrom in a Book series whenever I wanted to learn about their (Adobe) programs. They provide a quick, easy to follow method to getting up to speed and learning to use a product. This book is no different, it is the best means of learning the program, bar none.
