"The 10th Kingdom" is a two-disc set of DVDs that explores a fantastic realm involving 10 different kingdoms populated by different fairy tale characters. However, the fairy tales in these kingdoms have not ended how they should. In the worlds of "The 10th Kingdom" an evil queen has taken over, and the only way for the nine kingdoms to gain their freedom is if they find the secret portal to the 10th, which just happens to be located in Central Park. "The 10th Kingdom" tells the story of how mortals and fairy tale characters work together to save the lands from the evil queen. This fantasy story was first presented as a five part television miniseries, and it is 417 minutes long. The DVDs include notes from the director, a making of the movie documentary, and biographies of each of the stars. This fantasy two-disc set is billed as a family movie, but it may contain some scenes that are too disturbing for some young children.

The 10th Kingdom
For anyone who has never seen this movie, it actually was made for TV as a mini series. It's full of fantasy and keeps you interested so it never gets boring. There are many good/great actors who do a great job, and also some incredible scenery throughout the story. It's a great story for kids or adults and includes many of the fairy tales you heard growing up like Cinderella, Snow White, and many others. Basically it's about a girl and her father who end up in the fairy tale world called The 9 Kingdoms, where they try to help the Snow White's grandson, Prince Wendell, and find their way home with the help of some interesting characters. There is a little action, some magic, comedy and a little romance as well. If yer still not sure, try renting it. The 10th Kingdom
I first sent this movie when it first came out on TV. I had purchased the movie years ago but somehow got lost during a move. In my opinion, this makes A GREAT FAMILY time movie for an all day event. It's a fantasy movie with characters from Grimm short stories such as Snow White, Trolls, and Virginia and the Wolf just to name a few.

With a stellar cast and peppered with some snappy/humorous writing, the 10th Kingdom has a lot of good things going for it. I was enthralled by the story from the very first scene, although a good friend said the movie did not hold his attention and he specifically questioned the choice of actors for certain roles. I guess he's not a John Larroquette fan. Granted not every scene is a blockbuster, and movies like The Princess Bride are more succinct, still the 10th Kingdom has a charm of its own. If only the viewer would give it a chance to work its magic. There is much to pick apart, but if you can get by that, there are many reasons to give this movie a chance.With a stellar cast and peppered with some snappy/humorous writing, the 10th Kingdom has a lot of good things going for it. A grown-up twist on all your childhood fairytales.
This was originally a mini-series on NBC. It the version I watched it was 10 hours long. This set is an awesome gift for any girls or anyone who loves fairytales. It's about a girl named Virgina and her father Tony. They unknowingly travel through a mirror into the land of the nine kingdoms. It gets better as it goes on. They meet other interesting characters and they even have Dianne Wiest as the successor of the original Wicked Witch. It's got action,adventure,comedy, and a little bit of romance. It's long but well worth it and the cast and storyline are superior. What more could you ask for?This was originally a mini-series on NBC. It the version I watched it was 10 hours long. Grimms Fairy Tale Style Story with a Modern Edge
This movie is three discs long (don't purchase the two-disc set as the final chapter of the movie is not in the 2-disc set). The story is about a land that is separated into 9 kingdoms and a prince escaping from his evil step-mother jumps into what is coined the 10th Kingdom (or as we know it: central Park in NYC). There the prince and his pursuers unwittingly crash into a young lady on her way to her waitressing job and the trouble starts from there. If you enjoy fantastical stories with a modern edge then this is a story for you. It's a family friendly story - I watched it with my three kids (ages 7, 7 & 10) and they were drawn into the story as much as I. Great family movie.
