The Illistrated Book of the Titanic had really excellent pictures, and made you happy and sad @ same time.
The Illustrated Book of the Titanic has really excellent pictures, and makes you happy and sad at the same time, they give really nice memories of the Titanic, but sad that it never made it to New York, and so many people had to die.

Without a doubt one of the best Titanic books available
Titanic: An Illustrated History is perhaps one of the best known books available for those looking for any detailed photographic record of Titanic, for what little photographic record there is of the ill-fated passenger liner. Accompanying dozens of rare and hard-to-find photographs of Titanic are scores of astounding and near-photorealistic paintings by maritime artist Ken Marschall. It is these paintings, and the photographs, that make this book exceptionally magnificent. Ken's paintings of the ship in various plays of light almost look like photographs taken with modern photographic equipment, and his paintings are extremely well executed - right down to each rivet in the hull and the rust present on her when she left Southampton, England on April 10, 1912. Further accompanying ... Titanic: An Illustrated History is perhaps one of the best known books available for those looking for any detailed photographic record of Titanic, for what little photographic record there is of the ill-fated passenger liner. Accompanying dozens of rare and hard-to-find photographs of Titanic are scores of astounding and near-photorealistic paintings by maritime artist Ken Marschall. It is these paintings, and the photographs, that make this book exceptionally magnificent. Ken's paintings of the ship in various plays of light almost look like photographs taken with modern photographic equipment, and his paintings are extremely well executed - right down to each rivet in the hull and the rust present on her when she left Southampton, England on April 10, 1912. Further accompanying this wonderful masterpiece is a well-executed, well-researched diary of the events which lead to Titanic's construction commencing in Belfast, Ireland at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in 1909 (and includes the construction of her two sisters, Olympic and the ill-fated Britannic). This diary, written by Titanic historian Don Lynch, it also includes a detailed account of her maiden voyage, the sinking, and her discovery 74 years later by Dr. Robert Ballard. My reason for purchasing this book, as a scale model enthusiast, was to use the book as a reference material source for completing the Minicraft 1:350 scale model kit of R.M.S. Titanic, and it definitely serves the purpose! Whether used as a coffee table book, a part of a Titanic library, or as a reference material in building a scale model kit of Titanic, "Illustrated History" is without a doubt going to be one of the first books I'd recommend on the subject.

"Titanic An Illustrated History" is an excellent title for anyone who wants to know more about the Titanic from building the ship to the investigations into the sinking. The book is around 225 pages, has numerous photographs and colorful illustrations, and contains around 12 chapters and focuses on the following main areas: 1. Inception and building the ship. 2. The maiden voyage and details of the sinking. 3. Evacuating the boat. 4. Rescue efforts and memorial services. 5. Investigations into the sinking. 6. Discovery the Titanic on the ocean floor several years later. 7. Some of the Titanic artifacts found during the discovery. The narrative was smooth throughout the book and was very enjoyable to read. The book also served to dispel myths presented in the latest ... "Titanic An Illustrated History" is an excellent title for anyone who wants to know more about the Titanic from building the ship to the investigations into the sinking. In particular, while people of different social classes were pitted against one another in the struggle for survival in the movie, the book was full of examples of people who willingly sacrificed their lives so that others may live. While the movie was okay, Hollywood did seem to twist some of the facts. Thankfully, the book was more accurate. Read and enjoy this great account of an unfortunate episode in maritime history. Recommended.

Book great, condition poor
The post said the condition was "very good." The book appears to have been in water, very brown edges, smells very very bad like it's been in a very smoky room for years. Disappointed, don't even want to touch it to turn the pages.
