    Size does'nt matter

    This book is short. each chapter which covers an wide and yet concentrated subject area is well written and easy to follow. This book is one that can be picked up by a wide range of reading levels and enjoyed. Bryson makes biology and history easy to understand and enjoy. A Short History of Nearly Everything, is not nearly everything. It centers mainly on biology and topics pretaining to biology. A standard in many high schools and colleges Bryson's book is one that all can read and take something from.

    Great book, condition not so good.

    The research section in the back of the book reflects the focus Bryson maintained while creating the contents. I have nothing negative to say about the content of the book. The condition of the book itself was disappointing. It was yellowed and pretty beat up.

    A fascinating history of the universe, earth, life, and mankind!

    This is an amazing, fascinating book. It wonderfully describes the history of the universe, the history of earth, the history of life on earth, and the history of mankind. It also describes the history of our knowledge of the building blocks of matter, i.e., molecules, atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, etc, as well as painting an amazing description of what it is like inside a cell. And he writes with a lovely sense of humor. It's full of "juiciness", not at all like a dull textbook. I highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in these things. Even if you don't have an interest, this book will most likely develop one FOR you!
