Black Sabbath’s Rules Of Hell Box-set is a single package portraying Ronnie James Dio’s time in the line-up changing band Black Sabbath. After Ozzy left/was fired, Dio joined the band. The band changed a lot, and the biggest change was the voice, and the lyrical talent of Dio. (Geezer Butler, bass player, used to be in charge of most lyrics) When they released Heaven & Hell in 1980 it was an amazing comeback for Black Sabbath after their two previous releases with Ozzy. Black Sabbath with Dio is not to be taken lightly! This package features their 3 studio albums and their 1 live album. The audio quality is superb, so there is nothing more to say about that. The package itself is a slipcase with black on black so to enjoy the décor thoroughly you can tilt it in good light and it will shine A beautiful black box theme to it. The individual albums inside have new booklets compared to previous releases and instead have instead an article concerning the album inside them. And the disc’s themselves have a new theme like the box itself Pros: Superb sound quality. Visually stunning packaging. Cool new theme on all the CD’s so everything matches in this release. Cons: No new material, no bonus dvd with clips from Live Evil or anything of the sort. (not that I thought that would happen anyway) Lack of lyrics inside the booklets Over all, it's a must for fans and it is a more than awesome way for people to get into the Dio side of Sabbath.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The Rules of Hell box set is great because it has the Sabbath albums with Ronnie James Dio fronting the band. Dio took the worn out Black Sabbath machine then ramped up the speed, percussion & aggression. This was not your Ozzy acid/heavy rock machine that ground to a halt in 1979, this was a whole new raw power of a beast that wasn't well received at first but when the leather lungs of Dio merged with the new sonic thunder...it won over the most die hard critic's. Unfortunatly the excesses of the 1970's carried over into the 1980's it was a bad omen of things to come. The excesses & personality clashes soon destroyed what was potentially the vangaurd of Heavy Metal. What could have been can only be speculated but I'm sure it would have been interesting. Dio did come out with a bonified classic of his own in 1983, Holy Diver. Last in Line & Sacred Heart followed in succession, also classics in the realm of Metal. We lost one of the greatest voices in Metal when Ronnie James Dio passed on May 16th 2010. Legends never die, they only grow stronger in time. R.I.P. :RJ Dio.Vollständige Rezension lesen

One of the best box set released, with linear notes provided, very interesting to read on and on,honest to goodness quotes and thoughts by each members of the band,3 albums on RJD's tenure with the band, heaven and hell, mob rules and the brief reunion record dehumanizer plus the double-live effort Live evil!.all high-quality remastered albums, only disappointment with this release is the LIve Evil, not so good overall sound quality,Productions,(that lead to Ronnie's departure from the band) with Ronnie singing some of Sabbath's past records e.g.NIB,Paranoid,Fluff,Iron Man,War pigs etc, they should'nt included that, should only be all Ronnie's compositions with the band.Overall not a great one,but a must-be for a loyal Sabbath fan like me.
The very best and it just doesn't get any better than this!!!
