In an alternate reality created by Larry Bond where the Berlin Wall never fell and the Soviet Union has invaded American soil, gamers must rally armies of units to soothe a World in Conflict. Battles take place in the destructible fields, forests, and strip malls of Middle America. Single- and multiple players must command squadrons of Soviet, American, or NATO tanks, trucks, troops, planes, helicopters, and nuclear weapons in order to hold off the advancing enemy and maintain their position while attempting to move the line forward. <br><br>To successfully complete a game, gamers must guide their infantry and aircraft towards the enemy's capture zone. Each zone is protected by multiple circles of units that increase in number when the area is protected for long periods of time. Defeating at least one circle of defense turns the zone into a neutral space. During the game, players earn tactical points by sending their army into battle. These points can be used later in the game to call for air strikes, perform a radar scan, or to drop a nuclear bomb. By connecting to the Internet, gamers may declare war on multiplayer maps that support up to 16 players.

Worth it
Id like to start of with saying I'm no stranger to RTS games the kind that WIC is "World in Conflict". This game is one of the best very intricate. Offers almost the whole line of tanks helicopters and anti-air vehicles. Its similar in some ways to command and conquer tiberium wars. In the fact that infantry can occupy buildings and use them to ambush vehicles. The game offers a over view of the whole level in both single and multi player modes. Where this game differs from most RTs games you don't manage anything but control points. No growing food and crops or tend power plants or command centers this game is about war. You designate a drop point on a neutral area of the map and choose your vehicles and are limited with points which you gain by taking out enemy's and taking over control ... If your into RTS games and just want to go out and use advanced tactics without worrying about food, power, and command centers this game is for you.

Takes RTS games to a new level
The gameplay in this is simply amazing. You have a typical RTS layout of infantry, ground vehicles, and air vehicles (helicopters, specifically) along with an excellent roster of external support you can call in. Unlike other RTS games, however, you don't spend any time building infrastructure. You're given a number of resource points to distribute among troops as you see fit. If your units die, you are slowly refunded those points. This game is all about combat. The balance of powers between units is also masterfully handled. Infantry can traverse terrains that IFVs could never hope to cross. Helicopters can fly in and strike quickly, but they're helpless against AA defenses. The air strikes you can call in are also impressive, whether it be a simple napalm strike to burn out infantry, ... The gameplay in this is simply amazing. Great Game
This is a Great game if you like war games .It only took me 3 week's to beat LOL.So if you like a good game this is a great game to get .It is like sim city .But even better .The grafics are sweet .Thy really did a good job on making this game.You can trust Sierra with all there games thy are the best of the best .I have tones of there games .So for my review of this game is it is a must get if you like war games. Now for my dislikes .I wish there was more missions and we should have had choppers in every mission. The ending was not that great .You should have ended with something cooler like them coming home to there family .But not a bad job on the ending music . But all in all Good job Sierra . I hope you all have something like this agin sometime or bring back police quest .That was a ... I deal with a serious handicap of MS; games I can play are very limited. Obviously no shooter's will work because my hands no longer listen to me. I have spent hundreds of dollars on PC games only to discover: A) Game is too simple B) Game requires hand/eye coordination which is not going to work C) Game is too complex such as Civilization 1V - my mind no longer can let me work in those immense ones D) I love playing EA NHL Hockey game even knowing I cannot ever win because I am completely unable to accomplish certain functions of gameplay. Love the game. Now I purchased World in Conflict which is to be a STRATEGY COMES FIRST game and does not really require speed from my hands - so they say. Tomorrow I will begin to play the game and report back if only to be someone's bathroom reader. I ... I deal with a serious handicap of MS; games I can play are very limited. Great game
Pros: - Great graphics - Very good tutorial (never even looked at the manual) - Simplified controls - Voice acting and Sound - Fun gameplay! - No bugs encountered - Literally, thousands of people to play online with. Cons: - Might be too pricy for someone just looking for a Single-Player game - Loving multi-player, but wish single-player campaign was longer.
