it works....
I purchased the current Office Suite Product in order to be able to function in my peer intense industry. I was totally satisfied with the Office 2003 pkg that i had been using for years, but a sequence of items occurred that forced me to upgrade - my hdwe was old, failing (c2005 Compaq)..the least expensive equipment I could buy used Windows 8.1 (remember XP is no longer supported, which I was happy with XP also), so I had to consider new software as well as new hdwe, but the items are NOT sold as a package any longer, at least not where I could afford them. multiple compatiblity issues ensued. I like the compatibility office products, always seamless between applications. I dislike the exposure to virus' and malicious software. I think MS is out to control the world.....seriously..it ... For those who qualify for this college student edition of MS Office you will receive all the full programs, but at a very much lower price. BEFORE purchasing you will need to be sure you have the REQUIRED proof that you are a student at an accredited college. There is a process to follow in order to get your REAL product KEY to activate your installation; the key does NOT come with the box, you will only get a PIN number to begin the process. Depending on which version you are upgrading from 2010 is probably the easiest to learn. For those who haven't explored all the features it is probably wise to buy a book on the topic because most programs are VERY powerful; and they intergrate with one another if you need that function. I've tried Open Office several times (which is the only viable ... I really recommend 2010 for this main reason: Microsoft's 2013 versions (especially 365) are all Cloud-focused (which should be better perfected before relying on them) AND, MS is really PUSHING the idea of monthly "rental" of the programs which is just one more issue on a person's do-to list. If finances become a sudden problem then where's your essential programs? I'm not sure where this is going, but just like Windows 8, many of us want and depend on the capabilities of unlimited open windows when we work on our desktops. 8's main interface is for "apps" and isn't like a real desk at all which can keep lot of things in plain sight to aid a researcher. Isn't that what students are? Researching what we need to learn? Opt for 2010 instead of 2013 unless you genuinely NEED the Cloud. Take One-Note, for example. I can see both the pros and cons of putting every note on Cloud. Now that you can get the Cloud version of One-Note free I'm sure many will do just that, but I like my notes safe and secure. I've got too much work in them, not to mention they are private. Cloud is only as good as your next WiFi connection or it does you little good. Also, with the focus on Cloud computing, virus or interruption attacks will increasingly focus on the servers as well. If you do use Cloud, backup to your own local disk frequently. Backing up goes both ways. Since Office 2010 is fully compatible with Windows 8 it is my preferred Office Suite for the duration of the Windows 8 operating system. Also, there are programs to make Windows 8 favor and act like the Windows 7 OS. Metro will still be there for those who think they need it on their desktop computers, but I use Startdock's Start8 (4.99) and am very pleased with how Windows 8 now performs on my desktop. I've only read about the others which are available so I can not comment on them.

Have not been able to install?
I have not been able to install product due to key code not functioning. I have tried the key code with all my computers, and it does not install. Once I place the key code it evaluates it and then states it is the wrong key code. I would like to have the key code for the product, that I paid for! Thank You, Roberto

You MUST be a college student and or have an active .edu email address. Without this you won't be able to activate it. This version also requires that you have an optical drive to install it. A fantastic suite for half of the retail price. Great buy for a college student on a budget. This version also does not expire after a year like Office 365 does. It is active forever or at least until your hard drive give out. A definite must for any student needing a full office suite.This version is exactly like the consumer version. GREAT software!
It functioned very well. I never had an issue with it. It was easy to use and had a ton of Office software on it with a ton of features with each Microsoft Office Software Application that was included with it!
