As with previous Garfield compilation DVDs, this release contains episodes from the show "Garfield and Friends" based on a certain theme. Previous compilations have been based around television, Jon, and Odie. This one is based on the surreal, and contains a strong set of fifteen episodes. "The Lasagna Zone" parodies "The Twilight Zone," with Garfield being sucked into the television as a caricature of Rod Serling narrates. But it was all a dream...or was it? "Flat Tired" has Garfield too tired to act, so the director finds a replacement--Odie. Garfield watches the Odie episode on his own television, even changing the channel when the show becomes "as exciting as watching cheese age." Of course, he has to help the pup out in the end. "Rainy Day Dreams" shows Garfield imagining his way through a rainy day, seeing Jon's date, who only wants to sell him insurance, as first a fire-breathing dragon and then "The Bride of Arbuckle!" (For fans of "Garfield's Halloween Adventure," look for an instrumental reprise of the "Sixty men all lost at sea" song at the end.) My favorite is the episode that must have one of the longest, if not the longest, title ever: "The Creature that Lived in the Refrigerator Behind the Mayonnaise, Next to the Ketchup, and to the Left of the Cole Slaw." One of "Garfield's Tales of Scary Stuff," it charts what happens when you leave leftovers in the fridge just a few months too long. If you like the surreal and "scary," this is a great collection. Every episode a hit, and every hit a smack. Note: This release contains no episodes from the "U.S. Acres" portion of the show.Vollständige Rezension lesen
