This is a great camcorder overall: it has a quality lens, good low light (due to a 1/4" CCD), shoots widescreen, and has Sony's stedishot stabilization. The Bad thing: these cameras, along with the TRV22s, have a horrible reputation of going bad. I got mine in perfect working condition, but because of a manufacturing defect, bacame inoperable within 3 days. Luckily for the Sony consumer, there is a solution. Until October 2007, Sony will fix all of these cameras that have the "black screen" condition completely free! I'm not the original owner, and i didn't have to pay for shipping either way. Got it back in 9 days, working fine. So, if you're nevous about getting one of these, remember that you're covered until October.
Amazingly this little cam does a LOT and the quality is very good too. I film our Sunday morning church services and it does a wonderful job. The bottom loading for the Tape is a bit of a pain. You have to take it off the tri-pod and remove the quick release plate just to change tapes. That feature was NOT well thought out but all in all it is a good camera. It seems to have problems rewinding at times. It may just be this unit mind you.
The Sony TRV19 is a great camera. I bought one new 7 years ago when my daughter was born. It still works great to this day even though its been used quite a bit each year. I started producing amateur highlight videos of a sport that I coach, and I found the the TRV19 to be such a great camera, I bought a lightly used one here on Ebay. The camera has a digital output right into my computer through what I believe is a "fire-wire". I use Microsoft Movie Maker to capture the video into clips on my hard-drive. From there I use a higher-end software program to edit my videos. Even though the TRV19 is not an HD camera, its video output quality is impressive. So, now I'm using my two TRV19s to record and make highlight videos and I'm very pleased with both their dependability and quality of picture. The only downside would be the somewhat costly price of miniDV tapes which are between $5 and $8 each. If you desire high quality (non-HD) video for a bargain price, the Sony TRV19 is hard to beat.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I did my research on camcorders befroe buying and it paid off. Reading reviews on the DCR TRV19 helped me know just how perfect it was for me. I prefer Mini DV camcorders, and I dont want basic point and shoot camcorders that offer nothing, plus Sony really knows how to build them right to last long. Experimenting and making various recordings with this camcorder I am very impressed with it and very pleased with it. Night Vision is a cool affect I never had before, manual controls and very steady zooming is great for getting the right view of the scene, and the steady shot anti-shaking helps get that recording much clearer without the annoying and clarity decreasing wiggling the basics do. This camcorder fits my needs perfect, offering plenty of options for adjustments. Came with all accessories and a perfect case. One of my best investments this year, worth every penny.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The touch screen controls on the screen are outstanding and much better than the control panel of the older models. Ease of use and picture quality are the traits that insure that we always buy the Sony product. We've tried other brands before but they never seem to match the ease of use and quality of the Sony. It's just the right size to have something to hold on to but not too big to get in the way. Of course the format is obsolete but we have a bunch of tapes that have to be converted.
