It's a Rev 1.1 motherboard; appears to be new, old stock, i.e. never used. The PS2 ports & the serial port are useless, just connect a USB keyboard & mouse in 2 of the 4 USB 2.0 ports. Be careful, there are many different GA-Z77....motherboards. More expensive ones don't have the PS2 & serial ports but this one is about half the price. Only issue was the CMOS battery was dead which caused strange startup behavior until it was replaced. The BIOS was an old revision but downloaded & installed a newer revision from Gigabyte's website. The BIOS is an American Megatrends which allows for all kinds of detailed settings. Installed a Corei5 CPU & four 4 GB memory modules, a Samsung 500GB SSD & a 4TB storage drive. Even had an old 24GB m-SATA drive which snaps into place with no screws. Already had a brand new, never used, 10 year old multi-bay tower case. The 500GB SSD already had a Windows 10 build on it from a Dell desktop. It recognized all the new hardware & only required a new activation.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Better than I thought. Wanted to use an old core i7 2600 as a second system - But will probably use this as my main build, so will be, downgrading from Asrock amd 970M chipset, FX 8300 cpu - to the older platform Gigabyte Z77P "Socket 1155" i7 2600. Or is it a downgrade, "NO" Socket 1155 still kicks ass - it performs so much better than the eight core cpu?

I am glad I found LGA1155. It is working. It is great I didn't have to throw away i7-2600 processor with 16GB or RAM. It would be a pity, if it can work next few years.

Over the last 3 years mine(v1.1) has hosted all these...(Pentium G620, Core i5-2500, Xeon E3-1220, Core i5-3330, Core i5-2500K@4.3ghz, Xeon E3-1240v2). Things to consider include: M-SATA onboard socket is limited to SATAII speeds(SATAIII storage will bottleneck to <280MB/sec),... 2nd pci-e x16 slot is actually pci-e gen2 x4(populated with adapter for M.2 2280 and drive that I knew wouldn't bottleneck on the gen2 lanes. And only as fast storage[cannot boot from pci-e without BIOS mods outside my area of expertise]),... Weak power delivery section and limited BIOS voltage adjustment limit overclockability on unlocked cpu's(4.3ghz was limit for my i5-2500K). *augmented with a discrete GPU in pci-e x16 slot.

Works well but has an older BIOS that needed upgrading
