Year 70 of the Cosmic Era. The Coordinators, a group of genetically enhanced humans, have moved into colonies orbiting the Earth. But that hasn't quieted the tensions between them and regular humans; the conflict soon escalates into a full-scale war. On the neutral colony of Heliopolis, Kira Yamato, and his friends are going to school and just being kids. But when the ZAFT commando forces attack, Kira's life changes forever. Left with no choice, he and Federation officer Murrue Ramius are thrown into battle in a prototype mobile weapon, which Kira christens "GUNDAM." Now, Kira must defend himself and his friends from his own people. For, unknown to anyone else, Kira is a Coordinator. And the enemy he faces on the battlefield is his childhood best friend, Athrun! A fierce three-sided battle begins outside the Mendel colony. While the Archangel takes on the Dominion, the Eternal and Kusanagi attempt to fight off Le Creuset's ships. In the midst of this chaos, Le Creuset sets Flay adrift in a lifepod, entrusting her with what he claims is the key that will end the war. The Archangel, Eternal and Kusanagi fight to prevent both sides from using their weapons of annihilation. At the controls of his own new Gundam, Rau Le Creuset enters the fray to ensure that the war builds to a crescendo of devastation. Three lone ships and a handful of people are all that stand between humanity and total destruction.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I just want to say my review will have some mild spoilers; I'll say some events but I won't name names and I'll be vague so it shouldn't ruin anything. The anime seems to recycle a few things from the original like one of the love story scenarios and war orphans that join the ship the main character is on. The battles can get pretty interesting sometimes but some things make no sense, like how Sarah breaks out of her enemy base because they just shoved her in I think a closet and didn't even lock the door so she walks out. Another thing is that it is the ending is very abrupt and it makes no sense how (being vague to not spoil) the Zeta Gundam can actually freeze up the controls of another mobile suit to beat it. That is the lamest way to win a fight ever, but hey one of the pilots dies by crashing into a rock and then getting shot. The anime doesn't really explain many things also, like Char and Haman Karn's relationship, so you may have to research it as well. It was a nice tragedy, I did feel for the characters. I would like to give it a 3.4 though because of the unbelievable moments that happen starting near the end (like after the halfway point, starting with episode 31, but only 4-6 out of the 50 episodes I thought were bad, so that's a good percentage of what I thought were good episodes.) and the lack of details especially since the ending never said that the war ended, can be very confusing. One thing I would like to note is that they redid the intros; it has very high quality animation, but that's the only thing redone. It does look nice though. On it's own I'd probably give it a 4/5, but compared to the original a 3.4 or 3.5 is what I'd give. The bonus toys are a great edition and they double as pencil sharpeners. Although they can't move much if at all, it is nice to see your favorite mobile suits. I'll have to raise it to a 4 when I add this in. The booklet that explains some things is pretty decent too.Vollständige Rezension lesen
There is only one reason why you should buy this item, because it is among one of the best gundam animated series and it is still hand drawn. all artwork is original and the box-set has extra features too. The figure's, the timeline book that explains everything in the series, the awsome art on the collectors dvd box, and a neat poster of the zeta gundam. I was very pleased to find this item on ebay and extreemly happy to do business with this person. super happy and would reccomend this anime to any one who is interested in gundam timeless classic you will never forget.
Its an absolutely great product. The DVDs are in thinpacks along with an art collectors box. A Zeta Gundam Encyclopedia and Info book. A very nice sized poster and collector pencil sharpeners which are great for display cases.
This is one of the best box set ever made, it contains the complete series, in 10 dvd cases, with a poster and 9 figurines, highly detaled and a booklet that include description about the caracters, and some events that are necesary to undestand the series, this is one of the best anime series ever made, with a greate history and caracters.
