Product Information

Rec-room racers begin their journey to the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series in NASCAR 08 as they develop skills and earn licenses and contracts. Gamers learn the tricks of the trade in The Chase mode where each challenge teaches players an element of NASCAR racing. After gamers complete their training, they must race well to earn contracts offers and upgrades for their car. As they compete, players will set their wheels down on 22 different tracks including Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Watkins Glenn, and Talladega. Online, gamers can enter live competitions with room for 16 racers.

    CHEAP Grand Turismo knock off !!!!!!!!!!

    They really dropped the ball with nascar 08. You start out in this game having to take driving test, this leads to lisence test, then if you pass all the test you can start a race team. The test are laid out just like Grand Turismo. The test are very hard and are NOT nascar like. You will spend days working on your driving skills just to start a race team, then you get to start racing. This is a bunch of crap!!!!!!!!!!!! Aside from all the crap it will take to get the chase mode going, the graphices are 8.5/10, game play 7.0/10 the cars are very loose, handle like crap, be ready to tune , sound is a solid 8.0/10, fun factor 3/10 in chase mode, 6/10 in race now modes. graphics and sound are based off the 360 plugged through pc plug on 720p hdtv. sound plays true 5.1 digital.     nascar 08

    This game changed alot from last years game , thats not always good . They took all that was good in last years game and didn't put in this one . The game is alright , but it would be better with working your way up through the wheelen series then craftsman truck series and so on . That's not in this game .This game is very hard to figure out , it's not a game you put in and play right away .It takes some time to get better at it . I could see how people would be disapionted with the play .It is fun if you take the time to play for a while . I am still disapionted with this game very much . I wouldn't buy this game unless you are a big nascar fan .

    needs some work

    After reading the reviews here and at gamestop I decided to rent the game. Got it home and cussed for hours, my wife threatened to kick me out if the kids started using some of the language coming from my mouth. Well so off the gamestop I go to buy a wheel. After all, the reviews said that it was night and day between the controller and the wheel. Get everthing set up and begin to play. The game is more managable now, but you still have to almost race a perfect line. The adjustments are this, either so tight you can't turn or loose as heck. After a few days with the rental it got better and I won't say that its a bad game, but EA definately should have done some more to make it better for the casual gamer.

    Rent/buy used copy that you can return in 7 days

    I was excited about this game but let down overall. The grafics are not too bad but if you so much as touch another car you are wrecking. The career mode is awful. Then there is the actual driving, BAD! The car is nearly uncontrollable! I played online the other night at Talladega with 5 other players and we didn't even make it to the back stretch without a caution every restart was exactly the same, turn one caution wait for the pits restart caution. They were going for realistic but it is so real that it is too much and just not fun. The damage is cool but I didn't buy it to watch my car get destroyed I wanted a fun game not one that has me close to throwing my $50 controller! Oh yea only a 1 player game where is the fun in that? NASCAR 06 was fun needed some work but it was fun NASCAR ...

    All who hate don't rate!

    man, all you people who are like oh, this game is the hardest ever and i suck so its not fun. well, i agree on the rent or play the demo first to see if u like it and its not crappy driving, its realistic and that's the 'Big Thing' in video gaming industries right now to make it as lifelike as possible! if you've ever driven on a go-cart or something u know that you cant just jerk the wheel or you'll spin out, well same thing applies for this game only with a joystick. it's a very challenging game and u have to learn how to control urself because this is NASCAR people! Not some NFS or GRAND PRIX or GRAND TOURISMO, where you can just crash a couple of ttimes and still win the race, this is all about who has the best run! If you need some extra practice i'd suggest doing the qualifying ...
