I recently bought this and was not really sure what to expect, in a word its brilliant. OK there are better bits of glass out there but not at this price point. An f1.7 AF lens for the price that these go for is simply amazing and really does take some beating. The lens is well made considering its price point and the images it renders are simply great, at f1.7 you get a nice bokeh and lovely clear centre ideal for portraits, ramping up the f stops leads to lovely clear images across the frame. If you want a fast piece of glass and do not have much to spend these are definitely worth looking at.

Compact, affordable and very sharp. The max aperture of 1.8 seems perfect for low light or those times when you want subject separation or the artistic flexibility of a shallow depth of filed. The lens is very sharp and amazingly affordable, the 50mm "standard lens" equivalent of a full-frame camera. I've shot both still and video with it and it's excellent. Highly recommended.

I get it below market price, and still gets sexy results. No words can describe my love for this lens. Thanx ;-)

Plastic +++ so durability is always an issue - but to counter that - it is very very light. Since you'll be at risk of dropping it when changing enses- beware. Otherwise it is amazing - [1] very low distortion at about 1% [2] quick AF speed [3] add a 46mm +4 close-up lens and its a capable close-up lens Issues to think over [1] vignetting is 1-1.5 stops - so use a post process correction to correct this [2] to get the sharpness, it has eight elements in seven groups, including two aspherical lenses to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations - BUT this drops light transmission compared to a simple 4-5 element "standard lens" - DXO measures this as a T-stop of 1.9 which is dated as worse than average I also have a Mieke full manual metal bodied and mounted 25mm - designed for micro 4/3 (search eBay for one). Chosing which one to use on paper should be easy - the lumix wins- but in reality, if the AF is not crucial to you - the competetion is close !Vollständige Rezension lesen

its a decent lens, especially for the price. it has wicked bokeh for the price range and it is a fast lens at f1.7 making it good for high shutter speeds and low light performance. focus ring is big and easy to use. With a sleek slick design and good performance this deffo bangs for your buck
