Over the years I've tried alot of overdrive pedals (there is a difference between distortion and overdrive). If your a metal head and play guitar and want a classic 80's tone this pedal will give you that sound especially if you use a tube amp that does not have built in distortion. So if you have lets say a peavy valve king you dont need a pedal, but if you have a marshall jcm 800 or a fender bassman this pedal will give you a damn good sound, i personally have a nady-gth 100 and it sounds amazing with the tube screamer. Its well worth the money if you can pick one up then get it, in my opinion an amp modler can only take you so far and they dont sound as good and solid state amps arent worth the money. Nothing beats the sound of a tube amp and a tube screamer, if that is the sound you want, i happen to like the classic 80s metal tone. Vollständige Rezension lesen

This pedal is still your best bet for overdrive that lets your guitar come thru. There are some other fine pedals but none better and most not as sweet in this price range. It has great dynamics also with your picking technic. Great pedal! If you don't have one get one.

Being fairly new to playing guitar (6 years) I've been searching for a certain tone, buying various pedals and amps with no luck, but with this pedal I can dial in the perfect tone in seconds. The pedal is very responsive to pickups, well built pedal with great mods.

This is sound great. It's incredibly easy to use, but most stompboxes are anyway. 3 knobs, drive, tone, and level. Drive is the amount of Overdrive. The tone knob controls sound wether it's more trebly or bassy. Fully counter-clockwise is for a more bassy sound, and fully clockwise will give you a higher pitched with the treble more prominant. The level controls the total output of the pedal. There's input and output and the stomp switch.
This is exactly what a TS9/TS808 should sound like! Analogman's upgrades and silver mod make this pedal far more playable than the stock version. It can go from boost with a slight edge to some serious overdrive, with a functional tone knob and plenty of volume. I played it straight into a 1965 Fender Champ which already sounds good when cranked. This pedal just put it over the top! I then tried it into a Roland Cube 80GX solid state amp, which has a great clean sound and decent OD tone. With the AM Silver TS9 gain up slightly, channel 2 didn't muddy up or generate artifacts and actually sounded really good! Harmonics, sustain, and edge like you would expect from a tube amp, but blasting out of a 1 x 12 solid state combo. You can't go wrong with one of these!
