I have a somewhat biased opinion on this game, See for me, I'm all about the story, NOT necessarily the graphics, which btw, for the 360, are just great. The story, for me, was good too. And of course to have Michaele Biehn reprise his character added even more value. But again, I am an alien fan and I personally like not only this title but also AvP and to be the best is Alien isolation. The game play in this one is great, in fact, I'd say it has equal controls as CoD and there's no sloppiness in the control system. I have a sealed copy of this, Alien Isolation and AvP. What a cool game!
I don't know why it gets a bad rep, this game is pretty cool. I'd give it a full five stars except for two things: One, I'm 2nd player and all the pointers are given to the 1st player only so I miss out during action. Two, the terrible language. The game allows you to become one of the marines and, yes, you have to kill aliens while completing your missions. But there are rogue groups of marines you take on as well. So, about the time you start to feel this is becoming repetitious shooting either the aliens or the bad guy soldiers, it switches in the next chapter. You can choose your difficulty which helps while you learn controls. But as far as people who have reviewed this saying it's the same thing over and over... What were they playing? Fun for the Alien-story lover! A good value.
Decent graphicsfor the age of this game, although overall the environments are very dark. For example, the interior of the colony buildings is so dark, and the flashlight provided to the marines is so small and dim, it makes it difficult to see anything, including aliens, which are almost black. Here's a tip - use LOTS of flares. They don't last long, but they'll let you see what actually is out there, and moving. The motion tracker is a useful tool. The pulse rifle is definitely the weapon to use. The pistol is nice, but doesn't deliver enough rounds to be effective when a hoard approaches. Use the grenades, they do work! The sound effects and music make you feel like you're in the actual movie; very accurate. This is a pretty basic game, but still fun, if you like the Alien brand and ... Es war ein guetr Kauf und ich bin zufrieden
Ich bin iFi Fan und spiele gerne X-Box....also war dieses Spiel auf jeden fall ein "...das haette ich gerne " zumal ich die Filme schon einige male gesehen habe, die dvd war in sehr gutem zustand incl. der verpackung und lieferung, da es nach canada ging hat es etwas laenger gedauert, aber war in einem akzeptablen rahmen, das spiel an sich ist gut und man glaubt, in einem film zu sein, was ich allerdings vermise ist eine groessere waffen auswahl, besonders ein Sniper Gewehr, aber man kann ja nicht alles haben, unter dem strich, bin ich mit dem kauf zufrieden und wuerde eine fortsetzung auf jeden fall kaufen,.....ein kleiner tip noch, gleich zu anfang habe ich mir die zaehne ausgebisen um den marine zu retten und wurde jedesmal von dem alien vernichtet......ueber dem marin ist ein loch in ... WAR FIGHTER
This was a great game with new weapons. I also enjoyed headshot icons that would pop up red or white due accuracy, one shot one kill. There was a part as a sniper that was amazing due to the distance of the shot I had to make adjustments. This means the further away I actually had to shoot over soldiers head and drop bullet down to head shot!
