Both the minolta and Sony "56" flash guns are identical and work seamlessly with Minolta Film, Digital and Sony Alpha camera systems. Really powerful flash for telephoto use, which can also be fine tuned manually to produce delicate washes of light. It has ttl aperture priority and hss shutter priority modes upto 1/8000 of a second. Full vertical and horizontal adjustment for bounce lighting etc. Further features include wireless which allows the unit to be used off camera, or in conjunction with several more off camera flash guns. Flash has drop down wide angle adapter built in, and a hook up for wired flash control and external power packs. Cate needs to be taken when attaching these packs connection plug as all but delicate fitting can see the internal socket damaged. The plastic lids that covers hook ups is flimsy and they always seem to break at the hinge, and easily lost. Tape is a good substitute. Manuals can be downloaded from.various Internet sites as well as experienced help from current experts. Vollständige Rezension lesen

I needed a "real" flash gun for my "old" Sony A-55. Shoe fittings have changed so new flashes need an adapter. This was a top-of-the-range flash in its time and is very versatile. The head angles almost every direction, it auto-zooms automatically with the lens settings, and fires when off-camera, even for multiple exposures. Its power (GN56) means that it can bounce flash off a back wall as well as a ceiling and still give enough illumination. Great piece of kit.

The Sony HVL-F56AM flashgun is a re-brand of the original Minolta 5600HS(D) and are the same apart from the brand name. The flash is an intermediate semi-pro level unit that is packed with features and has a tilt/swivel head and a pull-down diffuser for use with wide-angle lenses. It has a GN 56 rating (56 metres) at ISO 100 which is excellent and the rear illuminated control panel is well laid out and easy to use. Only the pro-grade F58AM is more powerful with additional features, though costs a lot more, so this (or the Minolta) is affordable and has all the controls, versatility and functions that any grade of photographer will need in an external hot-shoe or as a slave unit. I cannot recommend this (or the Minolta) model highly enough, and whether you have a camera with a pop-up flash or none at all, this unit is ideal whether you're a novice or a seasoned shooter, and it'll give you much greater control of your lighting whether for fill-flash, bounce or for portraiture when used with an appropriate diffuser such as a Lambency Dome or a Lumiquest 80/20 deflector.Vollständige Rezension lesen
