Nice machine with good features all in one machine, easy to setup and use; well written manual. This machine performs as it should...also it is easy for me to service and clean between projects....Oh...I also like the thread stand and wire guide that it has on it. The extra stitches that are available with this machine are also nice to have for every day sewing....Other machines just don't compare with the SES as it uses your own computer for embroidery work and all of your art work....you are not stuck with buying cards and usb designs ETC:.....Take your time and use good thread & needles and Enjoy. I guess I am the only one that got 2 of these 'reconditioned' machines that did not work. I am not upset because for the price I paid I can afford to get them repaired to working condition. One of them I was able to repair the presser foot lever so it worked and to get the feed dogs up so it would sew. After that it is doing fine. The other one I will have to take to a repair shop as the bobbin keeps jumping out of place and I can't figure out why. I had the SES1000 already and knew that these are great machines.

Purchased this machine for a sewing machine only. I have a SES1000 for my embroidery. I am very pleased with this machine. If it is refurbished, you cannot tell. Sews great and I have a second embroidery machine if I need it. Could no pass up this value and price. Thank you!

This is a wonderful machine. I first saw it on HSN and was fascinated by the photo stitch option. It sews fast and well. Switching the machine back and forth between sewing and embroidery probably takes about 30 seconds. I've had three different brands of sewing machines, and Singer machines are my favorite. They are easy to use and if you call their customer service center, they stay on the phone with you until your problem is solved. (Having said that, I've never had to call with this machine; just an older machine that I dropped while moving it.) Any error message on the screen is explained in the user manual. I wish it had a "needle up/down" button to use when finished sewing a seam (instead of having to use the handwheel). Other than that, it is a perfect machine.
Mine looks like HSN overstock, included everything on list software too. Its just older software think thats why its cheap. I bought a $70 XP laptop to dedicate to it so worth it. Just study your booklet, snuggle up with a bourbon and watch the DVD you'll figure out how to use not that tough
