I have used a Rand McNally many times, so I know what i'm doing, I can assure you I am no newbie when it comes to these things. The GPS does exactly what it's supposed to, but there is one thing. When its set to automatic Day/ Night mode, the "night" mode dims as it's supposed to but then seconds later goes almost blank! it's even hard to see in complete darkness. And turning it back to manual 'Day time" would be too bright for driving at night. It is clear there is a malfunction in this product. I will be returning it.

It gives a good idea of where you need to go but you still need to do you're route planning very well. It's tried to take me the wrong way many times. Restricted routes and a low bridge, if I hadn't preplaned

Great Truck GPS. However, despite updating maps prior to use it is still out dated in many areas of travel. Especially in regards to posted speeds and new construction areas. It appears buyer is forced to purchase life time maps in order to get greatest accuracy of performance.

Great trucker gps but stills need improvements, added features and upgrades. Fixing the wrong posted speed limit and calibration to correct U.S.A. Posted speeds limits would be great. The gps occasionally does not find an address. Overall I think it is the best on the market. It gets excessive use and testing since I'm an over the road professional truck driver. Not perfect but it's a great investment.
The TND710 is a waste of money. I bought one in December 2011 as a christmas present from my wife. It was not installed or used until January. It lasted until the first of March before the screen quit. I sent the unit back to Rand McNally and they sent me a refurbished unit. I used the refurbished unit for two weeks before the power board went out. I sent that unit back and received it back two weeks later. It did not last two hours before the power board was out again. When this unit was working I loved it, but this is ridicilious. Rand McNally refused to replace the unit with a new one, only refurbished units.
