Reviews
'Here's what I love about Russ Ramsey's latest project--it understands down deep that Truth is exclusive to no party or sect; that Goodness arrives in the form of the lonely, the ill, and the outcast; and that Beauty, amid the church's moral twilight, might be the last apologetic that holds.'

Synopsis
How do art and faith intersect How does art help us see our own lives more clearly What can we understand about God and humanity by looking at the lives of artists Striving for beauty, art also reveals what is broken. It presents us with the tremendous struggles and longings common to the human experience. And it says a lot about our Creator too. Great works of art can speak to the soul in a unique way. Rembrandt Is in the Wind is an invitation to discover some of the world's most celebrated artists and works and how each of them illuminates something about God, people, and the purpose of life. Part art history, part biblical study, part philosophy, and part analysis of the human experience, this book is nonetheless all story. From Michelangelo to Vincent van Gogh to Edward Hopper, the lives of the artists in this book illustrate the struggle of living in this world and point to the beauty of the redemption available to us in Christ. Each story is different. Some conclude with resounding triumph while others end in struggle. But all of them raise important questions about humanity's hunger and capacity for glory, and all of them teach us to love and see beauty. "The artists featured in these pages--artists who devoted their lives and work to what is good, true, and beautiful--remind us that we can, and should, do the same." --Karen Swallow Prior, author of On Reading Well, Rembrandt Is in the Wind by Russ Ramsey is part art history, part biblical study, part philosophy, and part analysis of the human experience; but it's all story. - _***a (435)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufI've only rated this item 3/5, but this isn't a comment on Larry-BOS or his business. Book arrived in the promised timescale, was 'like new' as described, well-packaged and was cheaper than the only alternative I could find at the time. But the question was "tell us more about this item". Haven't read properly yet, but I can see that the artist has mucked about with the original design of the legendary C57-D spaceship. Why oh why oh why? And some of the crew appear to favour wearing shorts???
- s***s (635)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufI highly recommend this seller! Shipping was fast and package was professionally wrapped in a plastic bubble wrap mailer, which was important since the mailman left it on the front steps in the rain. The book arrived in excellent condition as described and shipping was included in the auction. I would use this seller again.Under he Looking Glass A New York Graphic Society Boo) By Olivia Parker New (Nr. 156042504512)
