Containing an impressive collection of little-seen TV appearances, music videos and live concert footage, the BEST OF BOWIE is a comprehensive overview of David Bowie's career to date. We start with three performances from the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test ("Oh, You Pretty Things," "Queen Bitch," and "Five Years"), then move onto full performances from shows like Top of the Pops ("Starman"), Russell Harty Plus Pop ("The Jean Genie," "Space Oddity") and a rare caught-on-camera performance of "Rebel, Rebel" from a Dutch TV show called TopPop. The rest of this release concentrates on a concert from the Serious Moonlight tour of 1983, and a chronological array of music videos, starting with "Absolute Beginners" (1986) and ending with "Survive" (from 1999's "Hours" album). Bowie fans can finally throw away their poor-quality bootleg copies of this material and enjoy these performances as they were meant to be seen!

Essential, dynamic..notable songs and obsecurities
I bought the Rykodisc Sound and Vision VHS tape for a pretty penny back in the mid 90s. This DVD set has all of that and then some. Not only in order of release but the pacing is very good. You know how some video compilation s are exciting at first but then the quality of material diminishes? My dad said this is what happens when artists sober up. Absolutely essential for the true Bowie fan. Sound and picture quality is excellent. Comprehensive (and then some), fascinating. My teenage daughters love it. I only wish there was some material around the Station to Station period. David Bowie Best of is a better than average DVD and I'm glad I own it
I have come to the conclusion that this Music DVD is one of my top 3 favorite DVDs. I chose this one for the song variety and length of the combined performances. I especially like the first 3-4 song performances featuring DAVID BOWIE in his earlier 1970s "Glam Rock ERA". The featured close ups are so exciting and I would love to see more like this! There must be more colorful close up and vivid acts that he has been in,these are so great! The video quality is extraordinary and the audio is fine.Some of the other Music DVDs that I own tend to be too repetitive and in the worst cases are poor audio and even worse grainy low color video. The video is so bad in one in particular that one would believe it was filmed before colored films were invented and it was produced in the 70s ... I have come to the conclusion that this Music DVD is one of my top 3 favorite DVDs. I chose this one for the song variety and length of the combined performances. There are too many truely phenonmenal artists from the 50s to the 90s that are not being represented in their most epic and best acts with some of these poor quality DVDs. It hurts me.

Almost Great !
Overall, a very good Best of Bowie DVD. However, it left off Suffregette City which was on the Best of Bowie CD. I had to by an import DVD in order to get that song. So, in sum, a very good DVD but not great.

bought it for my mom she used to have it from the 70s but my brother messed it up she was so sad finally found it and got it for mothers day and a low tshirt because I love my mama she deserves the best of bowie ❤❤❤❤
