Brother Dave Gardner was a Southern Comedian who was a True Comedic Genius that was tragically lost due to a Heart Attack in 1984. His Comedy Style influenced many Comics such as Ray Stevens, Lenny Bruce and many more. In fact even Larry The Cable Guy's style and material can be traced to Brother Dave. Brother Dave's Comedy would not be allowed today because of all the Political Correctness there is. His records were even played on the radio back in the 1950's - 1960's. I had the Pleasure of seeing him in 1959 LIVE on stage at a Club in North Carolina while serving in the USMC. I had all of his 33 RPM LP Records but lost them over the years. I AM VERY HAPPY to see they have been Saved and Remastered and put on CD. I play to BUY all of them. If you want Rib Splitting, Eye Tearing Humor Buy this CD Sit Back and Hang On.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I bought he CD after an old friend mentioned how we enjoyed records of Comedians and he mentioned a few samples of Dave Gardner. I had forgotten how predjuice we were back then. A younger person will not like him. A older person will remember what we used for HUMOR in the olden days and ALL OUR JOKES were mostly about Italians, Irish, English, Black, Colored and so forth. It's Archie Bunker at his best.
Brother Dave was perhaps one of the funniest comedians of the late 50"s and early 60"s.His humor is timeless. He also was a very close friend. I made the purchase because the albums I had were stolen, and I wanted to be able to relive Daves humor. I highly recommend the album to anyone that enjoys great humor.
This was a gift for grandpa and he really enjoyed it and was very pleased with it. He wants everyone to listen to it that comes over. He had heard him before and when we saw this we just had to get it for him.
As a kid I would listen to Brother Dave with my brothers, both older, and listinging to this CD reminds me of days gone by. We are still very close and this is an addesd treat
