Best Pedal I have found 2 Delay engines are Superb!
I have used many effects pedals over the past 20 years of playing and this one is a culmination of all the good ones I have played. 200 individual patches provides an incredible Library of songs to program into it. 2 Control pedals on the bottom allow tap delay and Boost option all "on the fly". The 4 quick change knobs below the screen give the user total control of subtle frequency changes at the touch of a button. The Sub-delay with regular delay allows you to program dotted quarter note with eighth note to duplicate a galloping type of rhythm found in songs like "Run like H***" by Pink Floyd and it is a great sound for Modern Christian Rock. I got this at an incredible deal on eBay at only $204. The factory programmed patches are brilliant on their own, so kudos to Boss for such ... I simply make subtle adjustments to those they have programmed and I am on my way. I play exclusively at church with the Modern Christian Rock sound with overdrive and Delays and it is perfect for such use. I am going to try to find some shared patch sites on the internet for this baby and download some of my favorites once I've fine-tuned it a bit. Can't go wrong with Boss.

Pros: I have used multi-effects guitar processors for over 20 years. This one looked like an advancement and I wanted to try it. It is very well-built and rugged and should hold up well for live use. The display is bright and easy to read from a distance. It has more features than I will ever use but does include those I need. An attempt to create a few usable patches without the manual was successful, but I realized that I really would need to rely heavily on the manual and commit much to memory to more fully exploit the power of this unit. I have the time and (maybe) enough patience to implement this unit for live performance. Cons: For me this unit is far less intuitive than the Digitech RP1000 and the Pod X3 Live, meaning I am having to rely a great deal on the manual to make it do ... Over the years, I have owned the Boss GT-5, GT-3, GT-6, Roland GP100, so I am familiar with the brand and how the earlier models operate. This one is far more advance and, for me, has a steeper learning curve. It does not have XLR outputs which would facilitate direct connection to a mixer. Also, Boss does not provide an editor for deep editing patches on my PC. The competition offer editors for this purpose, so for me, this is a negative. I am still learning how to use it and am not yet confident enough to use it for live performance. Summary: This unit will probably do everything a musician needs for live performance and recording. It has a learning curve and will require much use of the manual and will require patience. It is a good value.

Guitars Best Friend!
I love this pedalboard! It has SO many functions that you can manipulate. There is so much you can do to create a sound that fits to ANY song genre. It has a loop feature that I wished was longer, its only about 35 seconds on MONO mode and 13 seconds on STEREO mode but it works for quick riffs for me (Metallica, Pantera, AC/DC) The wah pedal can be used with any sound that you chose and sounds really authentic. I used the GT-10 with GarageBand on my Macbook and created some pretty cool sounds and tones to save. The only thing you should probably get to get the full effect with this pedal is a AUX cable to plug from the GT-10 to a headphone jack for computer use, with a adapter of course, and a USB printer cable. Other then that this this is amazing! I use it every day and so far I had it ... I love this pedalboard! It has SO many functions that you can manipulate. I tried reading the manual but its kinda hopeless until you actually start messing with dials and figuring stuff out on your own. Other then the loop feature, this pedal is 100% worth the money. Its a pedal that can replace every other one (except for a looper of course). I never had the volume maxed out because half-way on the pedal and my small 15 watt amp is super loud and too much for me when Im playing indoors. I never tried this thing outdoors yet because I am afraid to ruin it. I can play with this pedal for hours and its tons of fun! I recommend this pedal to every type of guitar player, novice to advanced to professional. Hope this review was helpful!

GT10 has all the building blocks and a good set of presets of popular guitar tones form the last six decades to further extent to any setup or sound you are after, provided you make the effort to learn to tweak. And yes, you will learn in a matter of few days to a week – it is only rocket science, black magic and mystery if you let it be. Like many people comparing BOSS GT10 against L6 POD HD500, I too read all the reviews for about a year, completely torn (and even confused) between these two competing products. I brought both units home and compared them about a month. As I was suspecting, if you have EQ ... Amazing unit tailored for ease of use in live performance . You can finally achieve those great tones on your favorite song without lugging big amps and extensive/expensive equipment. GT10 has all the building blocks and a good set of presets of popular guitar tones form the last six decades to further extent to any setup or sound you are after, provided you make the effort to learn to tweak. As I was suspecting, if you have EQ capability, fully parametric effects, and patience you can make either unit sound "approximately" the same. If POD HD500 or GT10 sound noticeably better than each other, you have some more tone shaping (EQ'ing) and effect parameter adjustments remaining -- don't let the personal biases and conflicting reviews confuse the technical capability of each unit -- they are on par. You can induce bigger differences in the tone by how you play between two successive plays, than you can hear from the equipment. Then it becomes user interface preference, and few unusual effects unique to each unit. Couple of feature I wish BOSS added are the stereo balanced XLR outputs, and stereo effect loop. You can always use external DI(s) for XLR conversion but there is no way around stereo effect loop (only relevant in recording scenario). I also wish POD HD500 had Linux support, better routing flexibility and sheer DSP power that BOSS has. If a patch has elements you don’t want to hear, then you can use the equalizer to suppress it and boost the things you want to hear. After all, we hear sound which is expressed as Frequency and amplitude, which a parametric EQ can shape to any degree you like -- so no argument on which unit sounds better -- they both can be made to sound the same! Ideally you can hook up both units to a spectrum analyzer (Free software on PCs) and adjust sound visually for close match. I also wish any of these multi-effect units had a reference microphone input and built-in spectrum analyzer which allows you to superimpose your ideal tone against the measured tone, so that it can automatically match the two or allow you to manually match them. Taking a deeper look at the tone, within the sound envelope, there are also some dynamic behavior of effect attack and decay level and rate which are modeled in each unit and how multiple such effects in a chain interact with each other in time (Convolution), which depends on the DSP algorithm and power. For example how a Chorus effect interact with an overdrive effect. HD500 and GT10 take completely different approach to the algorithms employed to achieve the final sound output. However, with patience, your ears will guide you to achieve the desired sound -- just play with all the parameters till you have a satisfactory tone. As always EQ'ing to match sounds between two different units is time consuming, and you have to evaluate when you have hit the point of diminishing returns. Linux support, user interface preference, live performance ergonomics and overall construction of the unit made me lean toward GT10 over POD HD500 (my own bias, now come up with your own).

Serious about recording/live sound? This is a must have for those people are serious. Sure, there's a 155 page user manual, but the interface is simple enough, you'll figure it out. Awesome tone, all the effects you will ever need. One thing I did do was still use my Rocktron Hush Noise Suppressor. I guess my guitar has a bit more noise coming through it that I wasn't picking up (heheh) when recording with a mic. Think you are playing clean? Put this on an acoustic or clean setting and play something. The crystal clear sound direct to your PC or Laptop will let you know how clean or tight you are playing. Trust me you will here every little nuance of your fingering/picking. Connecting to my laptop.... I was a little skeptical when I saw the "This product not ... Serious about recording/live sound? I downloaded the driver form the Roland/Boss website. It will act like a soundcard once you hook it up with the USB port. When you open your project in your recording software, set all your sources and ports to GT-10, THEN plug into the headphone jack with headphones or stereo amp and speakers and all your tracks will run thru the GT-10. You'll make a couple of adjustments so your already recorded tracks don't have the current patch processing them. And you are ready to record. Overall, you will probably be astounded by how good this sounds. It is ridiculously cool. I give it an 11 out of 11!
