How to tell the difference between Tegaderm 1626 center adhesive and center non adhesive window. This is confusing as they both share the q626 product number. 20 years ago I found the foolproof method that has never failed. Look at the drawing/picture of the patch. One shows a clear plain window. This has the non adhesive center for cover IV ports etc. The 1626 that shows paper being peeled off the center window area has the adhesive center for a waterproof covering of morphine or other transdermal patches that have stopped sticking for the 3 to 10 day period. I also found the best way to get an air tight adhesion is to: 1. Clean your skin with alchohol. 2. Allow it to dry without touching the skin. 3. Apply your medication patch and use a dry flat surface (Tegaderm box works great) to apply even pressure you will avoid bubbles and wrinkles. 4. Apply the Tegaderm patch over your med patch, or IV port. Use something such as box again to apply even pressure for 1 or 2 minutes. 5. Carefully remove the paper backing. I slip my finger between the tape and paper as soon as I have enough room to press down tape and lift paper backing simultaneously and avoid tears. If you follow these simple steps it will improve your patch cover and avoid the need to reapply tape prior to needing a new patch or portal.Vollständige Rezension lesen

The tegaderm always adheres well after adding your own bandage. Keeps the wound closed off from dirt and moisture. You can take a shower and not worry and walk outside just fine. Really necessary if you need to keep an area clean.

My wife has very dry sensitive skin that tape and sometimes even bandaids leave bruises or marks on her skin. We use this with gauze on her "boo boos", which she gets a LOT of being on blood thinners, and they leave no marks!

I used this at the hospital where I worked. As a retired senior now I used for cuts with gauze under it…..it helps cuts or surgery from getting wet.

I use this to hold a patch of medicine on my skin. However, they are supposed to stay stuck and prevent water from seeping in, and they do not do that. They should stay put until the patient removes it. Usually I need to remove the tegaderm from the patch it is supposed to be protecting and put a new one on after every shower or an intense workout where perspiration was extreme. These are the best products though that I can find for this purpose. There are bioclusive dressings that are better but hard to find and extremely expensive.
