Product Information

Twelve years after the original StarCraft "zerged" its way onto computers, Blizzard's sci-fi strategy game finally receives its sequel with Wings of Liberty. Once again the game features three rival factions: the gritty, gutty Terrans; the slithering, swarming Zerg; and the psionic, cybernetic Protoss. The single-player campaign focuses on the scrappy terrans, led by Jim Raynor, in a narrative spanning 29 missions. To help those new to the StarCraft universe, a number of mini-games are included to introduce key tactics and strategies.<br><br>While the presentation has changed, Wings of Liberty's mechanics are similar in design to the original StarCraft, relying on the traditional real-time strategy framework of resource gathering, structure building, and unit generation. New troops, ships, and technology are included for each faction, as are an assortment of tweaks and upgrades to familiar faces.<br><br>Online support for up to eight players is offered through Blizzard's Battle.net service, allowing gamers of all skill levels to be matched together for competition in leagues, tournaments, and ladder matches. Full stat-tracking is available, along with voice communication, Facebook integration, and cloud file storage. Also included in a built-in editor that lets players create custom maps with scripted events.<br><br>Wings of Liberty is the first of three planned StarCraft games, each offering a single-player campaign focused on one of the three races (all races are available for offline skirmishes or online competition). Wings of Liberty is released in two packages: a game-only version and a collector's edition. The collector's edition features a 176-page book on the game's art, a making-of DVD, a soundtrack CD, a comic book, exclusive downloadable content for online play, a Terran "Thor" pet for World of WarCraft characters, and a USB flash drive containing the original StarCraft and its Brood War expansion.

  • Buyer beware the DVD Key code can only activate once

I wasn't told the DVD key code come with the used game can only used once to activate this game, in order to play this game even for single player mission you will need to set up a battle.net account and if the Key code come with the original DVD sleeve already been used(registered) then you can not set up another account with battle.net and without an activeed battle.net account, you can not even to start play this game at all. Unless the seller is willing to release his existing battle.net account to you along with the original DVD, then all you got is a DVD that can be installed, but you can not start to play. Some of the seller will included the two fre guest pass key code only, but each of those guest key code will only let you play for 7 hours(including single palyer mission only) ...

  • Great, but don't buy it used unless you have a valid CD Key!

***Beware to those that purchase a used copy(see below) Let it be said...the original Starcraft is my all-time favorite PC game, so this creates high expectations for the second game. I have played Starcraft 2 for a few hours offline and it is like playing Starcraft but with some upgrades to the game. This is a good and bad thing. This game will be just more Starcraft, but that is a good thing. I love the game, but it is like watching a sequel to an excellent movie. The second movie doesn't usually live up to the standards created by the first movie. This game isn't ground-breaking, but very, very good none-the-less. You owe it to yourself to play this game if you loved Starcraft or you like RTS games. ***Now the downside, at least for me. I bought the game used and if the gave was ...

  • Saved by Multiplayer

The campaign in this game is fun, but you can only play as terran and a little as protoss, its just sad because you have to buy the other campaigns when blizzard releases them. For 60 bucks you should be able to get all three races. Dont get me wrong the campaign is fun, but if you love zerg you dont get to play as them unless your doing multiplayer. The Multiplayer in this game is awesome however, you can gain hundreds of achievements and in-game rewards. Many people have created custom game types which are great to play when the usual game play grows boring. Overall good game. I dont think its 12 years waiting good but its fun.

  • New one and fast shipping

tarcraft 2 is a great game. I got it the day it came out and haven't touched another game since. Like the original Starcraft, it's an almost perfectly balanced RTS with three unique races. The Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss each have many new units and tricks up their sleeves, and as with the original, the game takes mere hours to learn but a lifetime to master. Each and every last unit has its perfect situation where it can be used to turn the tide of a game. The production values are phenomenal all around. The sounds and voice acting are fantastic, the attention to detail is amazing, and if you've got a computer that can handle them, the visuals on max settings are absolutely gorgeous. And it doesn't just look and sound good; it plays good, too. A bunch of little technical issues from the ...

  • If you've got the computer to handle it, you should have already bought it!

I bought this game because I had become a fan of the original Starcraft game. My friends and I would always play against each other in multiplayer mode. Starcraft 2 is a whole new dimension. I haven't played story mode, but just multiplayer alone satisfies the value of the game. I didn't like how Blizzard removed the LAN (Local Area Network) option for the game and it's now online-based. My friends and I would play on campus and the internet connection wasn't the best so playing using the LAN option decreased the lag in the game. But on a bright note, the quality of the graphics and quality of the sound were improved drastically. There are very few games that compare to this one. As a student in the audio production field, I was amazed at the several options Starcraft 2 provides for the ...
