At first I was skeptical, but once I had this Jackson in my hands, I was pleasantly surprised. I was torn between this guitar and an Ibanez RG 450DX, but I ended up buying both. First the Ibanez feels like it is a $400 guitar. It isn't bad, but it doesn't compare to the Jackson Soloist in my opinion. True, the Wizard neck on the Ibanez is nice, but the fret wires are not finished well, they actually hang over the side of the fretvoard. The Jackson does not have this problem. In short, the Jackson is of great build quality. Now obviously for pro players, you would want to change the pickups in either guitar, but the pickups in the Jackson get the job done. They are much hotter than I thought they would be. They are very clear as well. I play through several OD/distortion pedals from Keely Red Dirt, TC Electronic Dark Matter, and Boss Metal zone and Metal Core. This guitar handles all of these well and puts out a nice fat sound. The neck feels good, perhaps not as nice as a PRS, if you like really thin necks, but this guitar still feels good and fast to play. This guitar is essentially an 80's rock/metal guitar, but if you want more, you will need to go to active pickups. In short, this guitar feels like it is at least twice as expensive as the current price. It is solid. Now, if you aren't familiar with a Floyd Rose bridge, be prepared to put some grunt work in when you change strings. In my opinion, if you are going to play rock, especially hair band music, why would you not want a FR? This FR seems of be of decent quality, but not an original FR made in Germany, but it is far better than the FR licensed crap you get on really cheap guitars. Overall, this is a must have guitar and is well worth the money, at least for the beginner or intermediate players or hobbyists. This is a solid guitar, great build, great sound, and great value. If you want better be prepared to spend a lot more. This guitar is a great bang for the buck.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I never write reviews but i felt that this guitar deserved one so that anyone considering purchasing one of these riff monsters will not hesitate and miss out on an incredible guitar. Despite the somewhat crappy pickups and cheap tremolo, this is the most amazing guitar I have ever played or heard. Opinions vary but I have been playing for fifteen years and I may not be extremely hard to impress I do have pretty high standards. I upgraded the bridge pickup to a Bill Lawrence l-500-xl(AMAZING PICKUP, very bright with extreme clarity and harmonic response) and left the neck pickup in since it sounded pretty decent(warm with a little cut and bite). I also upgraded the Floyd special with mighty mite saddles and a Floyd Rose fat brass sustain block which made a WORLD of difference. Essentially from the info that I gathered a Floyd special is almost the same as an original except a little cheaper quality with cheap zinc alloy saddles and sustain block but once you change these out and replace with quality parts you have basically a second runner up to an original Floyd rose. The guitar holds tune extremely well and has an amazing sound quality to it given its made of what many consider a cheap tone wood(Nato) which is an Asian mahogany but the results are top notch which are undeniable. I own many guitars, mostly Gibson and epiphone but after playing and hearing and feeling this guitar its made me not want to play them anymore. The neck on this guitar is so phenomenal that is just unreal. It feels so fantastic to play and sounds incredible and I purchased mine in slime green and the finish is simply stunning!! A guitar is worth to you as much as you feel no matter the price paid. You ultimately know an amazing peice of work when you see it or experience it. After purchasing the upgrades to the guitar and a case I have around seven hundred dollars invested but I honestly feel like I have a guitar that is worth thousands of dollars despite actual cost. That is the ultimate to any buyer but especially someone who is passionate about what they do and their investment, which this is truly a lifetime investment... and i imagine that you are going to enjoy this guitar for a lifetime. Best guitar I have ever owned or played, hands down!!! You will have to upgrade some of the cheap parts but that's typical on alot of guitars at times to suite personal style and taste but a very minor inconvenience to achieve the ultimate tool for the trade. Buy yourself one, you will not regret it!!!Vollständige Rezension lesen

I can't consider this guitar a full 10 out of 10, but for around $450, the value can't be beat. On a scale of 10, I'd probably give it a solid 9. The pickups are good, the action is fast and low, and fretting is great. It plays great right out of the box, but investing $300 ($100 fret job and about $200 in DiMarzio pickups) will turn this into a premium player that you'd have to pay 4 or 5 times as much to rival. I'm very happy with the purchase......best $450 I've spent in quite a while.
