At long last! One of Michael Jackson's most well known and beloved films comes to DVD! In Michael Jackson Moonwalker, (Michael Jackson) stars as Michael. A man with powers that are not of this world. Michael must save Sean (Sean Lennon), Katie (Kellie Parker), Zeke (Brandon Quintin Adams), and the rest of the worlds children from drug lord Frankie Lideo aka Mr. Big (Joe Pesci) who's mission in life is to get all of the worlds children hooked on drugs! A NOTE TO PEOPLE IN THE USA LOOKING FOR THIS FILM ON DVD: Make sure when buying this film on DVD you buy Warners Product #WK00817 as NTSC Region 3 which plays on North American NTSC Region 1 players.
Michael was ahead of his time on this one! This fits perfectly in this day and age with our ever-decreasing attention spans. YES, I really do like this DVD and highly recommend it! I think even non-MJ fans can find it entertaining. (But I AM a big fan, so this is from that point of view!) It starts with some concert clips, then into some of the music videos of the BAD era, with a little creative editing on "The Way You Make Me Feel". "Speed Demon" with the big claymation rabbit, and the kid's version of "BAD" are particularly fun! The main storyline centers around the "Smooth Criminal" video, and Michael's 3 kid friends, including Sean Lennon, son of John and Yoko. Mr. Big is played by Joe Pesci, and is a menace to society, especially Michael and the kids. Don't miss the magical shooting star that apparently give Michael some kind of superpowers, somehow I missed that until I read someone else's review. To escape Mr. Big he turns into a super snazzy car, and then later becomes a spaceship ? ! So it is pretty creative and entertaining. I love the end clip of "Come Together" in concert. I had no idea he ever did that song. It must be OK with Yoko at least, or Sean would have never starred in this movie! Released in 1988, you CAN find a legitimate copy, so I would recommend shopping around the bootlegs on this one. But none from the US, so imports only, mostly from Asia. (Even the "legit" copies have terrible English spelling.) Total run time is listed as 93 minutes.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Very intriguing montage of different things Michael Jackson has done. If you don't mind the fact that only the Smooth Criminal sequence has any semblance of plot, this is a must-watch.
Just as i remembered. Watched the movie as a teenager in the late 80's. Long overdue for the dvd release. Great retrospective of Michael's career up to the Bad album. The movie was good too. Pre-Goodfellas Joe Pesci plays the villain!
I purchase this dvd for my nephew since he's a big Michael Jackson fan and he loved it! :) Since he's really happy with it that makes me really happy.
