Product Information

This title for the Game Boy was released soon after the first Final Fantasy game came to NES consoles in the United States, but is actually part of the Seiken Denestsu series. In the role of a captive gladiator who is forced to battle for his livelihood, the player soon learns of a special item which could bring him amazing powers. With nothing to lose, he sets out on a quest to break free from his captors and recover this powerful talisman.<br><br>Unfortunately, the special item is a pendant held by a mysterious girl who has been kidnapped by the same evil knight who had kept the hero as a warrior slave. The hero must find another special item, a sword of legendary power. Only then might he summon the strength he needs to face his nemesis, rescue the maiden, and recover the pendant.<br><br>The player controls the hero from an isometric perspective as he explores the Empire of Glaive, defeating foul beasts and collecting items of interest in a real-time interface. Success may often depend on choosing the correct spell or attack for a given situation. When it's time to rest, several villages around the land offer healing and gossip.

I got this as a gift for my wife's game collection and she was thrilled. The system came exactly as described and pictured. Everything was packaged very securely and arrived in excellent condition. Also, I was very impressed with the seller, who sent a message about compatibility limitations as soon as it was purchased, offering to cancel the order if was not aware of them--an excellent practice for looking out for the customer.

This game is in pristine, near mint, complete condition as described. The photos in the listing detailed everything they should. This seller went above and beyond, in my opinion, when packaging. After nearly 20 years on ebay, purchasing many games and movies, no one has taken the care this seller has in packaging. In lieu of a bubble mailer, the seller went with a cardstock envelope to better protect the game and even put folded paper towel inside the case to prevent the disc from popping loose

Final Fantasy Adventure is Still Just as Much Fun Today as it was 28 Years Ago
This is the classic game that started the Mana (Seiken Densetsu) series, even though it's a Final Fantasy title in name. Solid gameplay that will last you many hours. Give it a try. you'll love it. One of the best and only true action-RPGs on the Nintendo GameBoy...it's easy to see why this series went on to gather a huge fan base and it all started because of this game.

Still a Classic!
I first played this game over 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I always regretted selling it and my GameBoy. So when I was in a position to get it again I lept on it. I played through again and after all this time I still love it. It is not in colour but that does not distract. The graphics are clear and good for their time and still good even today, it is easy to see what is going on. The music is repetitive but still very good. The story line is very good and features some unexpected twists and turns, it never gets boring. You definately get your moneys worth gameplay wise, the game actually took me two weeks to complete. The puzzles are not difficult but can require a bit of serious thinking, however they are logical and you are unlikely to get frustrated trying to solve ... An overlooked Game Boy classic
Final Fantasy Adventure is a very peculiar game, as in it is not actually Final Fantasy. The game is actually the first of the Mana series of games made by square, this game being the prequel to the SNES classic, Secret of Mana. It is a very enjoyable Action-RPG, much in the same vein of the Legend of Zelda. The game is very approachable and direct in its interface, making battles easy and unhindering to the player, with weapons assigned to the A button and Magic/Items assigned to the B button. The is a lot of customization with the types weapons you can have, the spells you can cast, and how your stats will grow, but it is simple enough that anyone can understand it. Secret of Mana and Children of Mana being other notable titles, but in my opinion, there are few games in the world that can rival this gameboy game. Final Fantasy Adventure is a game with a very unique style and soubdtrack, with some of the best and most intricate music on the original gameboy console. The gameplay is somewhat similar to the original Legend of Zelda game for NES, but using familiar Final Fantasy elements where appropriate. (Chocobos, Dwarfs, and various enemies. I dont wanna give away anything about the storyline here, but I will say that this game is the only Game boy game that almost made me cry a few times while playing. I found this game trying to, well, find this game... "Secret of Mana" translated to "Seiken Densetsu 2" and I wondered why. In Japan "Seiken Densetsu" is "Final Fantasy Adventure", I ended up finding out. If you are looking for a Final Fantasy game THIS IS NOT FINAL FANTASY!!! Final Fantasy Adventure is a fun game for the Gameboy that was released in 1991. I have played it for roughly 25 hours and found that it is relatively difficult for the first hour or two... After that it is quite an enjoyable real time RPG. You even get to see some of the Mana recurring characters and enemies. One of the first enemies you find is a rabbite! You don't get them early on, but when you do get them, you will need them in almost every dungeon... When you level up, you regain all HP/MP. Stamina raises max HP, Strength raises Attack, Wisdom raises max MP, WIll makes magic more potent. Be sure to bring a MATTOCK(pickaxe) with you everywhere you go, and some enemies cannot be harmed by all weapons( that gets to be irritating later on). If you decide to do a bit of leveling up, you probably won't be short on cash any time soon. Different weapons may be needed in different situations. If the rooms looks strange, or you were lead to a dead end, try hitting the walls with your weapons - Some walls are false and can be broken with a MATTOCK. PRO's - It's a solid RPG with a story, stat building, exploring, and fighting. There are a few towns and plenty of caves to check out. Be sure to check the shops for new armor and weapons... CON's - The story is kind of cheesy. The controls take a little bit of getting used to. This is a fairly linear game. When you get an NPC they tend to walk around like idiots. You may (will almost certainly) have to look at an FAQ/WALKTHROUGH to get through some parts of the game. Many of the older games don't give you many hints if any at all, as to what you need to do next - This is one of them! If that's the case, I would suggest Gamefaqs.com
