Kevin Spacey, Kim basinger, and several other top leading actors head up this cast. From a Snoopy photographer to a police hit squad , to corrupt police officers, and a corrupt D.A. prostitutes who are taken to plastic surgeons so they appear to be movie star look alikes. It all opens at the nite owl murders and ends when a young ambitious police lieutenant exposes all the corruption within his precinct. A great drama and action movie. No nudity but alot of racy words and imuendos. Still by far as it is worth putting on your shelf to watch.Kevin Spacey, Kim basinger, and several other top leading actors head up this cast. Excellent rendition about crime and punishment and police action in the City of Angels in the 1950's. Hollywood, freeways, mob violence, drugs, and police corruption are the rules of the day. With the arrest of big-time gangster Mickey Cohen, an the murder of his lieutenants, a vacuum is created in the high dollar drug trade in LA. Chief Dudley Smith (James Cromwell), is secretly consolidating Cohen's rackets with the help of several of his cronies. The problem is that he don't want to share in the wealth and he is bumping off his associates one at a time. The all-star cast including, Russell Crowe, Kim Basinger, Kevin Spacey, Guy Pierce, Danny DiVito, and many others, adds a lot of style and credibility to this film. One of the best ever.
One of the truly great movies of all time. Loosely based on true events and real characters, L.A. Confidential involves you in the story and lets you live vicariously during the era in which the events occur. This movie catapulted Australian Russell Crowe to stardom and put fellow Aussie Guy Pearce on the map. Bonus video material is substantial, entertaining, and informative, as well.

a terrific movie depicting the glamor and corruption of hollywood and its police force.russell crowe,and guy pierce feed of each other perfectly. dislike for each other ultimately becomes trust and frendship as they have only each other to rely on to uncover this twisted tale of early LA life.the use of rollo tamassi is an exellent key word that blows the captain completely out of the water. great supporting performances by kim bassinger,kevin spacey, david strathairn and danny devito.james cromwell was an excellent choice to play the heavy. two thumbs up every time i watch this moviea terrific movie depicting the glamor and corruption of hollywood and its police force.russell crowe,and guy pierce feed of each other perfectly. dislike for each other ultimately becomes trust and frendship as they have only each other to rely on to uncover this twisted tale of early LA life.the use of rollo tamassi is an exellent key word that blows the captain completely out of the water. great supporting performances by kim bassinger,kevin spacey, david strathairn and danny devito.james cromwell was an excellent choice to play the heavy. two thumbs up every time i watch this movie

GREAT BUDDY MOVIE
It takes more than half of this movie before Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce team up to get the "bad guy" in the police department where they work, but once they do, the level of trust between them brings about the battlefield finale of this wonderfully plotted, lit, photographed and directed movie. The acting throughout is wonderful, too.
