After the dedication of your new city is washed away in a cataclysmic flood, you find yourself in Raw Danger. Civilization as you know it has collapsed and now you must make your way out of the city while staying dry and warm in a metropolis that now resembles Atlantis. Gamers may take the role of six different people and play through several different storylines as they progress through the game. Each person is influenced by the actions of another. For example, if you place supplies and clothes in a locker the next character you play can find and use those items. <br><br>The enemy in the game is hypothermia and water. If you remain in wet clothes and out of shelter for too long your body temperature drops and you die. To combat the cold you can locate such items as dry clothes and space heaters throughout the city while you search for a way out. Many obstacles will require you to jump, climb, and run your way through them, however several missions require a little more effort, such as riding a jet ski to escape an enormous wave. During the game you may come upon many non-player characters that can offer you supplies or interesting clues about how to vacate the soaked city. You may fully interact with these avatars and the game even allows you to make romantic connections with many of the saturated survivors.

Contacted seller of a week ago, no response. Item supposedly shipped a week after purchase still hasn't arrived (purchased 10/22/23, "shipped" 10/31 as of 12/15/23 no response or package), but no tracking was given even though it was usps media mail which has tracking standards as I understand it. It seems I'm not the only one this has happened to either.

Overlooked and underappreciated
Raw Danger is a huge improvement over its predecessor, Disaster Report, and while that doesn't necessarily put it at the front of its class, the class is a very small one. Admittedly, there are very few examples of "survival" type games so it has little competition, but its production values far outstrip Disaster Report. There are a few gripes, however. On the plus side, you get pretty good late PS2 graphics, some interesting and believable real-time water and lighting effects (with accompanying scripted disasters that work very well), varied gameplay through several different characters, and enough of a story to care about most of said characters. On the down side, the menu system is only slightly improved, leaving it clunky as ever; the controls are vastly improved but are still a ... On the down side, the menu system is only slightly improved, leaving it clunky as ever; the controls are vastly improved but are still a bit spotty, and the voice acting, while not terrible, takes some air out of the story. And since the story is what drives the game, you have to be willing to accept those flaws to get any enjoyment out of Raw Danger. These people aren't fleeing from zombies, or Russians, or manifestations of an unconscious girl's psyche. They occasionally flee from each other, but mostly, they are just trying to survive---survival horror without the horror. Thats not to say there is no fear of dying in Raw Danger; just the opposite, in fact. The characters are in freezing temperatures and constant rain and flooding, so spend too long and they'll get soaked, and their body temperature will drop. If it drops too far, they will stumble and go blind as hypothermia sets in, and not long after, its game over. Not only will you have to keep first aid kits around, you'll have to spend time finding better clothes, or soup to cook and keep them from freezing, and cobble together flashlights and trashbag ponchos to stay dry (and look like a dorky boy scout.) All of this to contend with, and add flying debris, constantly changing environments, falling buildings, earthquakes, real-time events, corrupted officials, and whiny companions, and you'll quickly see that the game isn't the pushover it's predecessor was. Raw Danger isn't for everybody. It is a slow, deliberate 12-15 hours if you spend at least some time exploring and doing the peripheral things that show you more of what it's all about. There is backstory to follow and secondary characters whose stories interweave, but if you dont care about them, you'll miss a lot of what the game has to offer. Dont expect high octane action, though; this is a game essentially about ordinary people with ordinary means making do the best they can under terrible circumstances. It's more Hallmark than Hollywood. Thats a good thing in this case, though; not very many games are willing to buck the trend and do something different, and Raw Danger is no exception, though that would, by default, make it just that.

A very good game made IREM Software Engineering!
IREM always makes quality games, and it shows. While the game may have some bland visuals, it's storyline, characters, and gameplay elements, really deliver a fun experience, and a unique one. Ive never played a game like this before, and it's really awesome. It'll have some moments that will definately suprise you and want to keep you going to see what's next. Also, this is a spiritual successor to Disaster Report which was also made by IREM in 2003. So, don't pass this game up if your looking for a "cheap" PS2 title, you wont go wrong here. Overall, this is worth looking into.IREM always makes quality games, and it shows. A hidden gem!!
This game is considered to be underrated and a hidden gem. Not many people talk about this game. If your into resident evil gameplay without the evil this game is up your alley. This game is more like watching a drama/thriller/suspense movie. If you like playing game with good/cheesy dialogue I highly recommend it. The point of the game is to survive from drowning, dying from hypothermia, staying worm, eating and helping people. I'm really enjoying this game and it's a great title to add to your Playstation 2 library.This game is considered to be underrated and a hidden gem. Not many people talk about this game.
